Air fryer, oil-free fryer... It is known by many names, but they all say the same thing: A healthy and efficient way of cooking. The fact is that this appliance is a useful addition to the kitchen as it can be used for a variety of things.
In addition to the typical recipes, here are some snacks that are ideal for breakfast, lunch and aperitifs. Time to enjoy!
Healthy Doughnuts
We often think that a healthy diet involves leaving aside the sweet snacks that we enjoy so much. Nothing could be further from the truth! Desserts and snacks can be as sweet and delicious as they are healthy.
If you are looking to have some fun with your family, or just to treat yourself, here are some doughnuts bathed in chocolate.
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs.
- 2 apples.
- 2 tablespoons buckwheat flour.
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Preparation:
First peel the apple, cut it into pieces and cook for 4 minutes in the microwave. Remove it carefully so as not to burn yourself, and crush it well to make a puree.
Then break the eggs into a bowl and beat them well. Add the puree and the flour, and mix it all together well. Then, add half a teaspoon of cinnamon to give it a little extra flavour, and beat again.
Then take the mould in which you are going to make the doughnuts, spread with a little oil and then add the mixture.
Put the mould in the air fryer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes at 180º C.
Finally, remove carefully from the oven and let it cool. When it has cooled down, remove the doughnut and pour 80% cocoa chocolate over the top. You can also sprinkle a tablespoon of icing sugar. And there you have it. Delicious doughnuts full of flavour for a healthy breakfast or snack.
Instant "Tequeños" (Venezuelan cheese sticks)
In this case, the idea for this delicious snack comes from Venezuela. "Tequeños" are a traditional appetiser, soft inside and crispy on the outside, an ideal surprise for visitors and really easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 1 wedge of cheese, preferably semi-cured white cow's milk cheese (Venezuelan "llanero" cheese). If there is none available, any semi-cured cheese will do (you can also use provolone, edam, gouda, feta and Manchego).
- Tortillas for fajitas.
Preparation:
First, cut the tortillas for fajitas into rectangular strips of the same width. Next, cut the cheese into squares similar in width to strips.
The wrap the strips diagonally around the chees, "Tequeño" style.
When they are all ready, place them on the tray of the air fryer and cook them for between 6 and 8 minutes at 200ºC. And there you are! A crisp, tasty canapé that everyone will like.
Cheesecake toast
All those who love cheese and sweets always order a dessert. Cheesecake is one of everyone's favourite desserts, and it comes in a variety of shapes, flavours and colours.
Have you ever tried it on toast? Here is a quick, simple recipe you can enjoy at home whenever you want.
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bread.
- 1 egg.
- 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt.
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese (spreadable).
Preparation:
First take the two slices of bread and use a spoon to crush them in the centre and make a hole.
Put the egg, Greek yogurt and cream cheese in a bowl. Mix together very well and then put in the holes you have made in the bread, with nothing protruding.
And now you can use your imagination! Choose your favourite topping: Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, banana slices, jam... To taste!
Put it in the air fryer for 10 minutes at 180ºC, until the top is golden. Just like that! Making a cheesecake has never been so original, fast and simple.
