We bring energy to your home and your business
Our main business is the generation, distribution and sale of electricity. We are also an important operator in the natural gas sector. We develop innovative solutions to customise our energy-related services.
We are committed to renewable energy in the transition towards an emission-free energy model
Generation is the production of electrical energy. At Endesa we build, operate and maintain power plants that allow us to obtain the energy that we then sell in the market.
Our generation activity is carried out in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. We participate in power plants that operate from different energy sources: hydroelectric, nuclear, thermal, wind and solar. We contribute to the energy transition towards a decarbonised economy through our commitment to renewable energy, digitisation and the circular economy.
Renewable Energy Generation
We work to change the energy model and reduce emissions through the construction and operation of wind, hydraulic and solar generation plants. Our renewable energy subsidiary is Enel Green Power España.
Our presence in the world
We operate in Morocco through our participation in Energie Electrique de Tahaddart and we are present in various European wholesale electricity markets. In addition, we maintain the export of green certificates and other renewable energy products.
REMIT wholesale market
The European Regulation REMIT (Regulation Energy Market Integrity and Transparency) introduces a specific legal framework for the electricity sector for the supervision of wholesale energy markets.
We are moving forward regarding the digitisation of the distribution network to bring energy to almost 22 million people
Such distribution comprises the transmission of electrical energy to consumption points. Improving the efficiency of our distribution network is one of our strategic priorities, which is why we are working on the digitisation of our processes and on maintaining a safe electricity network.
Through our e-distribution subsidiary, we distribute electricity in 27 provinces of 10 autonomous communities: Andalucía, Aragón, Baleares, Canarias, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana, Extremadura, Galicia and Navarra, which means a geographical area of more than 195 thousand km2 and a population of about 22 million inhabitants.
Our innovative commercial offer enables us to improve and increasingly personalise the service our customers receive
Such marketing comprises the sale of energy in the market, as well as the sale of added value (PSVA) products and services for the customer. At Endesa, we sell electricity and gas in Spain and Portugal, where its marketing is liberalised.
Almost 6 million customers have contracted one of the rates we offer through our free market marketer, Endesa Energía.
Our reference marketer, Energía XXI Comercializadora de referencia S.L., offers the regulated PVPC rate (Voluntary Price for Small Consumer).
We are building a new open, digital and sustainable energy model
Sustainability, innovation and digitalisation are transforming the energy sector and the way energy is used. The aim of Endesa X is to promote this transformation through energy-related products and services for people, companies and cities.
