To select the best gas tariff for your home, there are some key factors you really need to take into account. Before we help you choose the ideal tariff, we would like to point out the difference between retailers and distributors:
- Retailers: these are the companies with which you contract your gas tariff, they measure your consumption and send you the bills. Each customer is free to choose the retailer and the tariff that best suits their needs. There are two categories: Deregulated market retails and Last Resort Retailers (LRT).
- Distributors: they are the companies responsible for supply, transporting the energy to your home and making sure it is always available. They are also responsible for repairing breakdowns.
Once you understand these differences, you just have to choose the tariff that suits you best. Endesa would like to help and guide you through every step of the contracting process, so do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
One Gas Tariff: No minimum duration and no commitments.
The One Gas Tariff allows you to cancel your subscription any time you want without penalty. Although it is important to note that the initial contract lasts for one year, with automatic renewal.
Conecta Tariff: Change whenever you want.
With the Conecta Tariff, flexibility is the key factor. There is no commitment to remain, which means you can switch to another option whenever you prefer, with no penalties. So you have total freedom when it comes to choosing the tariff that best suits your needs.
It is important not to confuse a change of retailer (the company with which you have a contract and that issues the invoices) with a registration for the supply of gas. The need to register only occurs when there is no gas in your home or premises, either because it is a new construction or because the supply has been cut off for some reason.
Switching gas companies is a quick and easy process. If you have decided to contract gas with Endesa, here are the steps to follow:
- Get to know our natural gas tariffs and choose the one that best suits your needs.
- Make sure you have the necessary documentation that we may ask you for to make the change of energy retailer:
- Full name and Tax ID of the contract holder.
- Address of the gas supply where you want to change your retailer.
- IBAN code of the bank account where your invoices are to be paid by direct debit.
- Telephone number and contact e-mail.
There is no need to worry about anything else, as we take care of managing all the procedures for the change free of charge and without you going a single day without gas. We're here to make the process easier for you and ensure a smooth transition.
Knowing your CUPS number is very simple, as this code can be found on all your electricity and/or gas bills. To find it, take any bill and go to the "Contract details" section. Next to the contract holder, the contracted power and other details, you will find the 20 or 22 characters that make up your CUPS code. If you do not have access to a bill, the contract holder can contact the retailer. All you have to do is provide your name, National Identity Number and home address to get the CUPS code quickly and easily.
Please bear in mind that the CUPS for gas identifies the point of supply, never the person, and has the following pattern:
- ES: the first two characters represent the abbreviation of Spain, identifying the country of supply.
- XXXX: the next four digits are numbers that uniquely identify the distribution company, each designated with a specific code by the Ministry of Energy.
- XXXXXXXXXXXX: the remaining twelve numbers are assigned by the distributor to individualise the final supply point, i.e., they represent your home or business.
- Additional letters: if this code is accompanied by two or more letters, there is no need to worry. They are a crucial indicator for the control and detection of possible errors in the energy supply.
Each component of the CUPS code fulfils a specific role in the accurate identification of the power supply, thus ensuring efficient and safe service.
The period for installing the meter and registering the gas is not uniform and varies according to the location and the specific characteristics of the installation.
Normally, the standard timeframe for managing an electricity supply is between 5 and 7 working days. However, it should be noted that this period may be modified due to exceptional circumstances or particularities related to the installation in question.
The date of your first gas bill with Endesa may vary depending on the billing cycle you have. Below you will find a general guide:
- Monthly Invoicing: your first invoice will be issued approximately 1 to 45 days after contract activation if you receive monthly invoices.
- Bi-monthly billing: for those who receive bills every two months, the first bill will arrive approximately within 1 to 75 days of contract activation.
It is important to note that these deadlines are estimates and have been calculated considering the different contracting requests over the course of a year. However, there may be variations. If there are any delays, there is no need to worry. There are a number of circumstances that may influence the receipt of the first invoice.
Always remember, we will always keep you informed before you receive your first invoice. We will send you a reminder that will include details about your tariff and/or the products you have contracted and provide you with additional information to help you better understand your gas usage.
