FAQ

What is Endesa Mobility?

Endesa Mobility is the perfect opportunity to save on your energy bill by signing up for electricity, gas, and your WayBox home charger all in one package. The more products you contract with Endesa, the greater your discount – always with no commitment period!

What’s included in the Endesa Mobility offer?

The Endesa Mobility offer consists of 3 packages tailored to you and your needs:

  • Single-Family Basic: Includes the charger and everything needed for its standard installation in single-family homes without power balancing, with a limit of 20 metres, max. 1 brick drill hole, Electrical Installation Certificate (CIE), and processing of the MOVES subsidy application.
  • Single-Family Plus: Includes the charger and everything needed for its standard installation in single-family homes with power balancing, with a limit of 20 metres, max. 1 brick drill hole, Electrical Installation Certificate (CIE), and processing of the MOVES subsidy application.
  • Communal: Includes the charger and everything needed for its standard installation in communal living spaces (apartment buildings) with power balancing, with a limit of 50 metres, max. 1 concrete drill hole, max. 1 brick drill hole, Electrical Installation Certificate (CIE), and processing of the MOVES subsidy application.

All packages include a 3-year warranty and offer an alternative option for three-phase installations.

What’s not included in the Endesa Mobility offer?

The following items are excluded and will be quoted and invoiced directly by the installer:

  • Installation exceeding the metre limit established in each package.
  • Concrete and/or brick drill holes additional to those established in each package.
  • Request for a new supply.
  • Additional communication devices.

Civil works:

  • Trenches
  • Drilling through floor slabs between storeys requiring special drilling tools (concrete drilling machines).
  • Channelling in brick or other wall materials.
  • Work at height (heights over 4 metres).
  • Masonry, plumbing, and aesthetic and/or painting work.

What is power balancing?

Power balancing is a function that helps you charge your electric car at the maximum available power without tripping the circuit breakers due to other appliances running in your home. Your WayBox automatically adjusts its charging power to avoid exceeding your home's contracted limit while charging. This helps manage charging costs effectively and ensures the charger operates reliably without causing power issues. To use this functionality, a special device called a WayMeter needs to be installed on the meter. This is included in the Single-Family Plus and Communal packages or can be contracted as an extra for the Single-Family Basic package.

Example: If your contracted power is 6 kW and your household is consuming 1 kW, the WayBox will charge at 5 kW. If household consumption increases to 3 kW, the WayBox will reduce charging power to 3 kW accordingly.

What technical requirements are needed to install a charging unit in my parking space?

To install an electric vehicle charging point, a 230/400 VAC power supply with grounding must be available, along with a general control and safety panel, and a metering device.

What happens if there is no electricity supply point because the garage does not belong to the same homeowners’ association as the home?

If there is no existing electricity supply point, you must request a new one from the local electricity supply company. To do this, you need to contact the supplier responsible for your area.

Each supplier defines its own procedure to follow. Once you have submitted the request, the supplier will send you the quote. Usually, no major electrical grid upgrades will be necessary, so you will only need to cover the costs of the new connection, which for a power capacity of 9.2 kW is approximately €350 plus VAT. However, sometimes the supplier may need to carry out additional work, for which they will provide a separate estimate. You can then decide whether to proceed or not.

What happens if my installation is not feasible?

If, after the purchase process is finalised, the installer visits your home and determines that installing a charging point is not feasible due to technical reasons beyond the buyer’s control, the order will be cancelled and any amount already paid for the installation of the charging point will be refunded.

What happens if my parking space has no signal coverage?

If there is no 3G/4G mobile or Wi-Fi signal where you install your WayBox, you will not be able to use the app to control the unit or monitor your charging. The technician will check the coverage and explore alternatives with external devices. If there is still insufficient coverage with these devices, they will configure the charger in the most suitable mode for the WayBox to function, using Connect & Charge or Unlock to Charge, or using only the RFID card.

Can my homeowners’ association or property manager refuse the installation of an electric vehicle charging unit in my parking space?

According to Law 49/1960, of 21 July, on Horizontal Property, Article 17, point 5: ‘The installation of an electric vehicle charging point for private use in the building’s parking area, provided it is located in an individual parking space, will only require prior notification to the homeowners’ association.

The cost of the installation and the electricity consumed shall be paid entirely by the interested party or parties.’ Therefore, you only need to inform your homeowners’ association and/or property manager that a charging unit will be installed in the parking space.

If this procedure is required, Endesa X will provide a template letter.

If someone is renting a parking space, can they install a charging unit?

If you are renting your car’s parking space, you too can install a charging unit, but first of all you must ask the owner of the space for permission. We recommend that you obtain written and signed authorisation from the owner, to avoid problems later on. This authorisation can also be attached to the notification of the installation we mentioned previously.

If this procedure is required, Endesa X will provide a template letter.

Can I install a charging unit in a parking space that I hold under a concession agreement?

If your parking space is held under a concession agreement and the concessionaire has established a specific protocol, you must comply with the provisions of that protocol. For example, this is the case of residents of Madrid whose parking spaces are a municipal concession.

However, if the concessionaire has not established a specific protocol, it is sufficient to notify the concessionaire as stated in Article 17, point 5 of Law 49/1960, of 21 July, on Horizontal Property.

If this procedure is required, Endesa X will provide a template letter.

How and when is payment for the equipment made?

Although payment details are collected at the time of purchase, the customer will not be charged until after the installation of the equipment has been completed.

What incentives are available for sustainable mobility?

The Moves Plan consists of a series of government subsidies designed to promote sustainable mobility. This programme offers grants both for the installation of electric charging points and for the purchase of electric or hybrid vehicles.

Endesa X Way will manage the subsidy application for you in the Autonomous Communities of Madrid, Galicia, and Andalusia. For the remaining Autonomous Communities where we cannot manage it directly, we provide you with a dynamic subsidy management platform through which we help and support you with the application. In no case are we responsible for the granting or resolution of the subsidy.

How do I activate the public charging discount?

A few days after your charger installation, we will send you a code to activate the discounted 'Formidable' tariff. You will need to download the Endesa On Your Way App on your mobile phone and register to enter this code. Once registered, or if you already were, go to My Account and activate a charging tariff. To do this, you must have an active payment method and a previously activated tariff. We recommend the E-Flex tariff to start, as it involves no activation or recurring costs. Once this tariff is active, you can validate your code in the section My Account > Promotional Codes > Add Promotional Code. Once entered, you will find the tariff available for selection in the 'Wallet' section of your App, and you can start enjoying your discount on one of the largest charging networks in Spain.
