What are cookies?

Cookies are a tool used by web pages to store and retrieve information about their visitors and users.

They are small data files that we send to the device you use to connect to our websites and that are stored by the internet server. Cookies allow, among other things, a record to be kept of your browsing habits or your computer, your preferences and for this to be remembered when you return.

If you want more information about how they work, we recommend that you visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org/ and www.youronlinechoices.eu.

What do we use cookies for at Endesa?

On our websites we use our own cookies and those of companies that we collaborate with to personalise your user experience, store your preferences and offer you the best services.

Our websites include features provided by third parties, such as map services offered by Google Maps. We also use statistical cookies to measure and analyse user browsing on our web pages, and social buttons so that you can easily share our content (Facebook "Like" button, Google+ "Share" button and Twitter "Tweet" button).

Likewise, we use certain cookies to show you advertising related to your preferences, based on a profile drawn up from your browsing habits.

We inform you that we can only store cookies on your device if they are strictly necessary for the operation of our website (so-called technical cookies). For all other types of cookies we need your consent, which you can change or withdraw at any time from the settings on the Cookies Panel on our website.

Likewise, we inform you that the first time you visit our websites, we will provide you with information about the cookies we use and we will indicate that continuing browsing implies acceptance of all these cookies, but we will give you the option to select the cookies whose installation you accept from the settings panel.

What types of cookies do our websites use?

Below, you can find a classification of the cookies used on the Endesa website and its domains, taking into account that the same cookie may be included in more than one category.

Depending on the entity managing the website from which the cookies are sent and from where the data is obtained, we can distinguish between:

  • Own cookies: those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from the website they have accessed and from which the service requested by the user is being provided.
  • Third-party cookies: those that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a different domain to the one that is being accessed and which is managed by another collaborating entity.

Depending on the purpose for which the data obtained through the cookies is processed, we can distinguish between:

  • Technical cookies: technical cookies activate basic functions such as browsing on the website and the use of the different options or services that exist on it, such as, for example, accessing the private area, carrying out the purchase process for an order, submitting an application to participate in an event, using security elements while browsing or sharing content through social networks. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.
  • Personalisation cookies: preference cookies allow the website to remember information that changes the way the page behaves or what it looks like, such as a user’s preferred language or the region in which they are located.
  • Analytical cookies: analytical cookies, well treated by us or by third parties, provide us with statistical information on the use made of the web portal, such as pages visited or technical problems in accessing certain pages of the portal. This information will be used only for improvements in user experience, page design, portal navigation, search speed, etc.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: advertising cookies are used to track visitors on web pages, developing a specific profile to display advertising based on their use. They thus allow management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces, showing ads which are relevant and attractive for the individual user.

Depending on the period of time they remain activated in the terminal equipment, we can distinguish between:

  • Session cookies: this type of cookie is designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing a web page.
  • Persistent cookies: this is a type of cookie where the data remains stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by the person responsible for the cookie, and which can range from a few minutes to several years.

How are cookies managed in the browser?

The most popular browsers have configuration options and security features that allow you to avoid the installation of cookies and/or other browsing data collection systems on your device.

You can disable cookies using your own browser tools:

Also, remember that you can change your consent options through theCookie Panel settings.

Cookie deletion warning

You can withhold your consent to or block all non-technical cookies from Endesa's websites, but part of the website’s features associated with the installation of non-technical cookies may be affected, as well as the quality of the website itself.

In addition, we remind you that if you do not allow the installation of personalisation cookies you will have to update your preferences every time you start a session with us.

List of cookies used by Endesa

Below, there is a list which classifies the types of cookies used on the Endesa website and its domains, taking into account that any cookie may be included in more than one category.

Depending on the entity to which the website from which the cookies are sent belongs and which processes the data obtained, we can distinguish between:

Proprietary cookies

These are sent from the website the user is accessing and from the website providing the service the user is requesting.

Third-party cookies

These are sent from a different domain than the one the user is accessing and are managed by a collaborating entity.

Depending on the purpose for data collection, we can distinguish between:

Technical cookies

These are cookies of a technical nature that help make websites usable. They activate basic functions such as browsing the website and accessing secure areas on the website. These cookies are necessary because without them the website cannot function properly and they do not require consent.

Analytical and functional cookies

These are cookies that enable data that is always aggregated and anonymous to be obtained that will later be used to understand how users interact with the website and its services. They enable us to quantify the number of users who have visited the website, analyse the use of a certain service and extract statistics. Thanks to this we can improve our websites, as well as the range of products or services that we offer. They can be proprietary or from third parties.

Advertising cookies

They are cookies that enable us to get to know the browsing habits of users, show them advertising related to their browsing profile and effectively manage advertising spaces. The intention is to show relevant advertisements, adapting their content to the requested service as well as the use made by each user. They can be proprietary or from third parties.

Revision

These lists will be updated as quickly as possible as the website services offered therein change or evolve. Occasionally, during this updating, the list may no longer include a cookie, however, it will always refer to cookies with identical purposes to those registered in these lists.
