Souji
It is estimated that annually in Spain about 120 million liters of used vegetable oil end up in the sink, causing not only a greater increase in the chances of pipes clogging, but also that with a single liter of oil it can become contaminated 1,000,000 liters of water.
To solve this problem, Sergio Fernandez, an environmental engineer and Catalina Trujillo, specialist in marketing and commercial management, who after many years of work and research with the collaboration of the Chemical Institute of the Ramón Llull University of Barcelona and with the firm conviction of finding a solution, easy, fast, useful and safe to recycle used oil from home, they have created Souji; which means cleaning in Japanese and that is what is achieved by mixing used oil with an innovative, safe and above all sustainable formula. A liquid based on mineral and vegetable compounds that when mixed and stirred with the used oil, the saponification reaction is achieved, a chemical process by which a fatty body, added to a base, results in soap, which is what is Get it in just 1 minute without adding any corrosive agent, a multipurpose detergent for cleaning clothes, dishes and even floors with a pleasant aroma.
All this is achieved using traditional methods to make soap with used oil and incorporating 21st century technology, currently becoming the only product on the market that safely converts highly polluting waste into something useful and sustainable.
In 2020, Souji was awarded in the European Business Awards for the Environment, Spanish section by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, recognizing its environmental commitment and behavior.
