Endesa is moving forward with its commitment to culture and emerging talent, beginning a new chapter of collaboration with the Palau de la Música Catalana focused on supporting the Cor Jove of the Orfeó Català. This new line of sponsorship follows the successful conclusion of six years supporting Palau Digital —an online platform that has made concerts and musical content accessible to more than 100,000 households— and ten years as a sponsor of the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Endesa embraces culture as a driver of social cohesion and progress. This vision is now embodied in its support for the Cor Jove, a choir made up of 59 young people between 16 and 25 who represent the future of Catalan choral music. Endesa’s sponsorship strengthens their musical training, fosters cultural exchange, and promotes their personal and artistic development.
After a decade of collaboration focused on digitalisation and cultural accessibility, Endesa is taking its commitment to the Palau de la Música Catalana one step further. The Palau Digital project, launched in 2019, was a pioneering initiative that brought music to more than 100,000 households, with 149 musical programmes and nearly 367,000 views.
Commitment to emerging talent
Endesa’s support for the Cor Jove is part of a broader strategy to foster emerging talent in the cultural sphere. This approach is also reflected in initiatives such as Endesa Play, the competition for young musical talents that, in its first edition, featured 441 soloists and groups from across Spain. This project, which combines music and sports through the Liga Endesa, seeks to give visibility to artists who represent the future of our musical scene. Support for the Cor Jove is thus a natural continuation of this commitment to the new creative generations.
At the signing ceremony for the renewal of the agreement, Joaquim Uriach, president of the Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música Catalana Foundation, emphasised: ‘Endesa, as a sponsor, is a travelling companion that allows us to bring music and culture to everyone —and to do so in a sustainable way.’
Enric Brazís, director of Endesa in Catalonia, stated: ‘We believe in the transformative power of culture and in the talent of young people. That’s why we’re especially excited to begin this new stage alongside the Cor Jove, a project that represents the future and the values we share.’
What is the Cor Jove?
It is a choir made up of 59 young singers between 16 and 25, most of them coming from the children’s choirs of the Orfeó Català. Based at the Palau de la Música Catalana, the choir stands out for its diversity and for being a genuine talent pool. The singers receive ongoing training through singing lessons and weekly rehearsals, culminating in an intense concert schedule.
During the 2025–26 season, the Cor Jove will take part in major projects such as the premiere of Els set somnis de Gaudí by Olivia Pérez-Collellmir with the Philharmonia Orchestra; the performance of Gaudí by Albert Guinovart with the Original SoundTrack Orchestra; and a programme dedicated to Händel with the Baltasar Neumann Chor & Orchestra. They will also give a concert of repertoire for choir and organ with organist Joan Seguí, offering a musical journey from the Baroque to English and German Romanticism.
Shared sustainability projects
The commitment of the Palau de la Música Catalana and Endesa to sustainability is rooted in the belief that culture —and music in particular— is a driver of social development. With this in mind, both organisations are working together to implement sustainable practices in their activities.
Building on a ten-year partnership and shared goals, last year marked another milestone with the unveiling of a new artistic lighting system for the Palau’s skylight, funded by the Endesa Foundation. This new installation is designed with sustainability, efficiency, and environmental responsibility in mind. Thus, it has reduced energy consumption by 33% compared to the previous system, while also enhancing stage versatility thanks to LED technology.
