- Supply points with collective self-consumption have exceeded the 33,700 mark, double that at the close of 2024 and seven times more than at the end of 2023.
- The capacity of installations connected to the e-distribución grid is close to 4.4 GW, enough to cover the consumption of 2.2 million households.
Endesa's Grids subsidiary, e-distribución, has reached a new milestone by exceeding 400,000 self-consumption supply points connected to its distribution network. This represents a 20% increase over the 2024 total, confirming Endesa's leadership in commissioning self-consumption systems across the Spanish distribution network.
Over the last five years, the number of installations connected to the e-distribución network has multiplied more than twelvefold. These figures reflect the company's commitment to advancing a new energy model, empowering an increasing number of consumers and businesses to take an active role in generating and managing their own energy.
The power capacity of self-consumption installations connected to the e-distribución grid is close to 4.4 GW, an 11.4% increase year-on-year. These installations prevent the emission of 3.5 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere and generate enough energy to cover the consumption of 2.2 million households.
e-distribución—which operates the distribution networks in Andalusia, Catalonia, Aragon, the Balearic and Canary Islands, and parts of Extremadura—has recorded growth in self-consumption deployment across all regions, spanning both individual and collective schemes. Individual connections rose by 16% this year, bringing the total to nearly 368,000. Meanwhile, collective self-consumption supply points connected to Endesa's grid have exceeded the 33,700 mark, double that at the close of 2024 and seven times more than at the end of 2023.
While individual systems remain the dominant model, collective self-consumption is gaining significant momentum, driven by homeowners' associations, industrial estates, and business groups adopting shared renewable generation.
Support with applications and further information
Process optimisations in self-consumption applications—spanning both validation and customer communications—have accelerated the commissioning of these systems, most notably within collective schemes.
- Endesa has added new features to the e-distribución website to simplify the management of self-consumption requests. The site offers comprehensive, real-time information on various self-consumption modalities, regulatory procedures, and FAQs designed to clarify every stage of the application journey.
- Within the customer private area, users can track their self-consumption requests in real-time, gaining full visibility into every stage of the process.
- Enhanced web forms now clearly outline all required documentation, while automated notifications provide end-to-end guidance to commission the supply point.
- For further assistance, a dedicated helpline (900 920 974) is available to address self-consumption queries.
- Another measure implemented on the e-distribución website is the TXT file validator. The validator identifies formatting errors in regulatory compliance documentation for collective self-consumption. By preventing application resubmissions, it ensures a more streamlined onboarding and contracting process.
- It also includes a simulator that enables users to verify compliance with the statutory distance requirements for grid-connected self-consumption.
