- The CEO of the electricity company, José Bogas, and the Chairman of the farming organisation, Pedro Barato, have backed this agreement for the next two years.
- The goal is to train young farmers to promote rural entrepreneurship and improve sustainability in municipalities where Endesa renewable projects are developed, thus creating shared value between the primary and industrial sectors.
The CEO of Endesa, José Bogas, and the Chairman of ASAJA, Pedro Barato, have signed a partnership agreement between the two entities to support the rural world through the pioneering initiative of the Mobile Office for Rural Digitalisation and 40 training courses for the primary sector. This type of agreement is part of the commitment of both institutions to training as a key element of their activity in support of the rural world.
The CEO of Endesa, José Bogas, stressed that "at Endesa, we have close ties to the land, we have a vocation for permanence and the creation of shared value. We want to be leaders of the energy transition, and we want to do it in collaboration with the communities, listening to their needs. That is the meaning of this agreement: helping to train young people in the farming sector and empower them so that they can join in the prosperity that renewable deployment should bring to their regions".
The Chairman of ASAJA, Pedro Barato, has described the agreement in very positive terms, stressing the creation of shared value through the training programme for young farmers and livestock farmers, to boost their level of entrepreneurship. This is an ambitious project that integrates all branches of agricultural production. ASAJA will deliver these courses while seeking to make it easier for young people to be able to pursue their operations, their empowerment and their professional training.
The digitalisation of the rural environment will come hand in hand with a novel initiative, the "Mobile Office of Rural Digitalisation". A vehicle where ASAJA trainers will travel 3,000 kilometres this year, to visit a total of 29 municipalities in rural areas of 7 autonomous communities, where Endesa's renewable projects will be located. With this mobile office, support will be given to local farmers and livestock farmers to obtain the Electronic Certificate of digital signature and guidance to apply for aid and subsidies. It will also be a communication channel for Endesa's renewable projects, to explain their characteristics to the local population.
The training block is aimed at young people, unemployed and people linked to the agricultural sector. It is made up of 40 courses grouped into six key categories (agriculture, livestock, nursery, beekeeping, insect farming and circular economy) that are complemented by a second training block, with popular, high-potential subjects among the agricultural sector such as innovation, digitalisation and handling of agricultural machinery, business management, CAP and ICT aid and management and pruning techniques for emerging crops (pistachio, almond, avocado and olive grove).
This training offer is one of the Creating Shared Value (CSV) projects and initiatives carried out by Endesa in the territories where it is deploying renewable projects. The goal is always their best territorial integration and maximum socio-economic value for the local communities in their surroundings. And under this approach, the hybridisation of energy production with the primary sector is proposed, incorporating farming, beekeeping and livestock activities in renewable facilities with a view to sharing rather than competing for land use, thus generating more opportunities for local socioeconomic development.
In this first stage, the suggested Mobile Office route includes Llucmayor, Sa Pobla, Muro and Alcudia Mallorca, Carmona and La Rinconada (Seville), Mérida, Almendralejo, Fregenal de la Sierra and Bodonal de la Sierra (Badajoz), Graja de Iniesta and Minglanilla (Cuenca), Utrillas, Andorra, Calanda, Alcorisa and Albalate del Arzobispo (Teruel), Villar de los Navarros, Herrera de los Navarros and Azuara (Zaragoza), Matalebreras, Trévago, Fuentestrún and Castilruiz (Soria), Quintana del Castillo (Leon), Mula and Jumilla (Murcia), Almargen and Teba (Malaga).
