Endesa has launched an aid plan with various action lines to help the victims of the floods that have ravaged the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha after the DANA. Firstly, the company will launch a fundraising campaign among its more than 9,000 employees and has committed to matching the amount raised until reaching a total of one million euros, which will be sent to the affected areas through the Red Cross and Caritas.
Additionally, Endesa has decided to waive the next monthly electricity and gas bill for customers living in the affected municipalities of the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha, according to the list of affected areas specified by the central government. The company is also strengthening its customer service channels to allow clients to request bill deferrals or address any other issues arising from the measures approved by the government.
Alongside these corporate measures, Endesa employees are joining the large wave of solidarity deployed across the country. All of this aid is being coordinated through the Endesa Foundation’s Corporate Volunteering program, providing capacity, time, and resources.
Volunteers DANA Valencia On November 13th, a special initiative will be coordinated at the company’s offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and Zaragoza, where volunteer employees will help prepare 1,500 backpacks with personal protective equipment (PPE). Each backpack will contain essential items for cleaning and safety, such as gloves, FFP2 masks, hand sanitizers, protective goggles, and waterproof boots, all to assist in recovery efforts. Additionally, Endesa employees in Valencia participated last week for two days in the cleaning and restoration work of the Escola Gavina in Picanya (Valencia), one of the most affected educational centers by the recent floods. The Endesa Foundation plans to continue with similar actions at other affected centers.
Furthermore, PPE worth 5,000 euros has already been donated from the former As Pontes power station.
