- The main objectives of this alliance are to promote the talent of young people and to promote training in the strengths and values associated with the SDGs.
- According to Eurostat, the unemployment rate in our country is 38% for those aged under 25.
Faced with the worrying rate of unemployment amongst those aged under 25 in our country, which currently stands at 38%, combined with the data confirming that 85% of Spanish companies are now working on at least one of the areas targeted by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as indicated respectively by Eurostat and the Spanish Network for Sustainable Development (SDSN), BYG, the training project at the Endesa Foundation in collaboration with the What Really Matters Foundation, and Page Personnel, a firm aimed at the youngest target audience of leading recruitment consultancy group PageGroup, have joined forces to accompany young people on their difficult path when it comes to finding work.
The main aims of this alliance focus on promoting the talent of young people and promoting the delivery of training in strengths and values associated with the SDGs, to minimise the difficulty that this group faces when looking for work.
For all users registered on the BYG online platform (somosbyg.com), Page Personnel will offer training, participation in BYG webinars ("BYG Strengths" and "BYG Academy"), mentoring through the "Flash Mentoring BYG" programme, as well as access to vacancies.
"Young people are an essential pillar of the job market, which is why we want to help give them the visibility they need so that they can offer all their new ideas and added value to companies. In this regard, at Page Personnel, we are pleased to form part of this initiative that will allow us to guide young talent and strengthen their potential through talks and training programmes. The aim of all of this is to offer the best work projects adapted to each profile", explained José Castellanos, Managing Director at PageGroup.
"With BYG, we want to shine a light on the talent of young people, which serves as the meeting point for them with companies and educational institutions, to enhance their employability, improve their training and prepare them for the increasingly demanding professional world. Without a doubt, with high-level alliances like the one we have started today, we will be closer to achieving this", said Javier Blanco, General Manager of the Endesa Foundation.
Meanwhile, María Franco, Director of the What Really Matters Foundation, pointed out that "this new alliance is a clear example of how some companies are committed to young people and are looking for more than just talent in them. Alliances like this really give the project meaning."
Young people and entities interested in being part of this digital ecosystem can enrol on the BYG website (www.somosbyg.com), through which they can network and expand their contacts, find out about job vacancies at member firms and obtain access to the tools they will need to start changing the current labour framework and have a positive impact on the environment and society.
