- A total of 25 people from Torrecillas de la Tiesa, Aldeacentera and Trujillo, 44% women, are currently being trained in the operation and maintenance of renewable plants.
- Endesa, through its renewable subsidiary EGPE, has trained 878 people in the green energy sector in Extremadura and expects to close the year with a further 425 people trained, giving priority to unemployed people in the areas where new projects are being developed.
Training is one of the key features of Endesa's renewable development. Through its renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power España, the company is applying this formula to create shared value in the areas where it is building solar plants so that all local people interested local can become qualified and contracted for the construction, operation and maintenance of the new installations that will produce 100% emission-free energy.
The training course, which will conclude at the end of this month, is being attended by a total of 25 people, of which 44% are women and 24% are unemployed from the towns of Torrecillas de la Tiesa, Aldeacentera and Trujillo. All of them are currently being trained in the operation and maintenance of renewable plants. When training is finished, participants will obtain a certificate accrediting them for work in a renewable installation.
Over the last year, Endesa has trained 70 people in Extremadura, a commitment they have been developing since 2018, when the first training courses in renewable energy installations were organised, and the volume has been increasing, with a total of 878 people trained from that date until today in Extremadura. Endesa, through its renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power España, aims to continue organising training courses and expects to close the year with an additional 425 people trained in this Spanish Autonomous Community.
The training is focussed on the operation and maintenance of renewable installations, and 148 people have already completed these courses consisting of 90 hours, 60 in person and 30 to finish the course. The training involves topics such as energy management, environmental management, practical and theoretical content for the maintenance and operation of wind farms and photovoltaic plants, as well as aspects relating to health and safety health in the work environment.
Endesa's renewable division, Enel Green Power España, has 7 hydroelectric power plants and 20 photovoltaic installations in Extremadura, five of which came into operation last year and doubled the renewable capacity in the territory of Extremadura.
