- Endesa's energy services subsidiary is the main sponsor for the event in support of the Association of Renewable Energy Companies (APPA in Spanish) which organised the conference to be held today and tomorrow at the City of Arts and Sciences.
- With more than 2,600 MW of self-consumption installed in Spain in 2022, this form of renewable generation and consumption has established itself as a booming sector.
Endesa X is once again the main sponsor of the IV National Congress for Self-consumption organised by the Association of Renewable Energy Companies (APPA) for two days with the aim of publicising the latest trends in the sector and technical developments, as well as presenting the I Annual Report on Photovoltaic Self-consumption, which consolidates the sector with more than 2,600 MW of self-consumption installed in Spain in the last year. In this regard, Endesa's energy services subsidiary explained how the company contributed to making 2022 a record year in the sector, being the year with the most power sold and installed in the historical series.
The event was opened today at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia by the Secretary of State for Energy, Sara Aagesen, with the participation of manufacturers, distributors, installers, retailers, significant customers, etc. representing the entire value chain. Endesa X participated in the opening table at the congress, entitled "2023: The consolidation of self-consumption after a record year". During his speech, Jaume Macià, Endesa X's Head of Solar Photovoltaic Product for Spain and Portugal, pointed out that there is growing interest within the business sector in Spain, not only for photovoltaic self-consumption, but for other measures and technologies aimed at the decarbonisation of production processes.
Also participating in the table were Íñigo Bertrand, CEO of Edison Next; Julieta Maresca, Senior Manager of Distributed Generation at Repsol, and Marc Pahissa, Manager of Business Development, at Nexus Energía.
According to APPA, of the total of 2,649 MW of self-consumption that were installed in Spain last year, 39% were installed in homes and the remaining 61% in industrial premises. This represents a saving of €228 for each kilowatt installed for households and about €280 for companies according to a calculation made by the association, which varies depending on the location of the installation, its size and consumption habits.
