Through its renewables division Enel Green Power Spain, Endesa has contracted Electro Rayma Renovables for the operation and maintenance of three wind farms located in the municipality of Camariñas (A Coruña). This company has its headquarters in Carballo, very near the installations, and this was a factor that influenced the selection, because Endesa gives priority to local companies in the development of its wind business.
Electro Rayma Renovables will be responsible for the Pena Forcada, Do Vilán and Viravento wind farms with a total power of 52 megawatts. These farms were built 20 years ago. They are equipped with forty wind turbines with Bonus technology, which were manufactured by Navantia in its shipyard in Ferrol.
Endesa's relationship with this company in Carballo is not new, both in this area and elsewhere. Teams of technicians from the latter company have provided their services to the Enel Group, of which Endesa is part, in a number of European countries. This has brought Electro Rayma Renovables prestige and the technical solvency to consolidate itself throughout the sector as a qualified wind maintenance company.
The contract for Pena Forcada, Do Vilan and Viravento will last three years, and will enable Endesa to ensure operational services as well as minor and major corrective and preventive maintenance for the three Wind Farms in Camariñas, located just over 50 kilometres from the headquarters of Electro Rayma Renovables in Carballo. Endesa is firmly committed to sharing value with the territory where its wind farms are located and in this case it can be seen with this commitment to the above-mentioned local company which has strong roots in the regions of Bergantiños and Terra de Soneira.
Endesa plans to strengthen its presence in the area in the future. In fact, it is already processing the installation of a new wind farm in Carballo, called Monte Neme, in which it will invest €18.4 million. It will consist of four wind turbines generating 6 megawatts of unit power. Their construction will already have a favourable impact on the business fabric of Bergantiños, and this will continue when the farm comes into operation. The same applies to the three whose management has just been entrusted to Electro Rayma Renovables in Carballo.
