The first Endesa X fast charging points at Andamur service stations are now fully operational. The first two “Energy Islands” to go live are in the the companies have entered into an electric mobility agreement Andamur service areas in San Román (Álava) and Ciudad del Transporte in Pamplona (Navarre). These are the first of six similar facilities at Andamur sites in this country that will also have a fast and semi-fast charging infrastructure.
Both have fast charging points with a power of 50 kW, which can charge an electric vehicle in minutes: batteries charge to 80% capacity in 15 to 20 minutes. These are universal charging points that charge both with direct current (CCS Combo, CHAdeMO) and alternating current (Mennekes) and they therefore can be used for all electric vehicles now on the market.
“Facilities like this one, in an unbeatable location, are making it easier for people to drive Travelling the main roads of this country in an electric vehicle with complete normality, without changing their habits very much, and with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that they can charge when they need to. The first 2,000 public access charging points will be operational by the end of the year. By that time we will have installed a 15,000-km network of charging points on Spain’s main roads so vehicles are always within 100 km of a charging point, the key to unrestricted movement in our country," said Elena Bernárdez, head of electric mobility at Endesa.
According to Andalmur CEO Miguel Ángel López, "Installing Endesa fast charging points in these service stations is a new milestone that coincides with Andamur's vision. Our company’s commitment to innovation and the environment has been one of the pillars of our strategy in recent years,” he explained.
All these newly commissioned charging points are connected to the Endesa digital platform and it is very simple for users to charge their vehicles using the new Endesa X mobile app Juice Pass .
The app is available free of charge for IOS and Android. Users can register using their personal data or their Facebook or Google accounts to get discounts on charging. Creating a profile in the app brings customers a number of benefits: the app streamlines the process and provides detailed information on the charging point, prices and available hours. It also allows real-time top-up monitoring and access to their charging history and invoices.
However, drivers who prefer not to register can still use the charging points by going to the updated charging point map and paying by credit card. All charging points are connected to Endesa's digital platform and users can locate them using the app, check their status and even book a slot to charge their vehicles.
