- e-distribución, Endesa's grid subsidiary, expects to close the year with over 100,000 supply requests processed, marking a historic record.
- From the beginning of November, requests for access and connection from legal entities will be managed exclusively through the e-distribución website.
The number of new electricity supply requests handled by e-distribución, Endesa's grid subsidiary, is growing at its fastest rate since the end of the pandemic. In the first nine months of 2024, nearly 81,000 connection requests have been processed, representing a 7% increase compared to the same period last year. Between January and September, an average of 2,100 requests per week have been processed, and forecasts indicate that the year will close with a historic record, exceeding 100,000 requests managed by e-distribución for the first time.
The data shows that not only have access and connection requests increased, but also the associated power capacity, which has risen to 10 GW in the first nine months of 2024.
The capacity of the distribution network and the progress in its digitalisation are key factors in managing the increase in access requests for new supplies. Their importance will become even greater in the future as the electrification of energy consumption in businesses and households advances, improving efficiency and helping to achieve emission reduction targets.
Faster Processing via the Website
The average response time for supply requests handled by Endesa’s grid subsidiary is five working days, a 16% reduction compared to four years ago, although the timeframe varies depending on the complexity of the required technical solution. Processing times range from an average of three days for simple requests to ten days for the most complex cases, an improvement of 23% since 2020. The digitalisation of systems and enhanced customer service have significantly contributed to streamlining the process.
To further improve efficiency, from early November, all access and connection requests from legal entities will be handled exclusively via the private area of the e-distribución website. This measure will apply not only to new supply requests but also to power capacity increases, network modifications, and connections for generation or self-consumption. For individual customers, these procedures will still be available through Endesa's commercial offices and service points, in addition to the website.
Processing requests via the website allows an immediate assignment and communication of the case file reference number to the client, providing a key advantage, as capacity studies for the grid are prioritised based on the order of request submission. Additionally, it speeds up response times, as requests are processed immediately upon registration.
The e-distribución website is continuously adding new services to streamline procedures and improve user information. These include the ability for customers to track their request in real time, receive notifications of status changes, and access a cost simulator to estimate potential work costs based on the power and location of the supply. The website also enables users to make inquiries about procedures, review invoices and consumption curves, and carry out digital payment transactions.
