- Endesa, with the backing of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) and the acb (Association of Basketball Clubs), has launched ‘Cancha Solidaria Endesa’—a new initiative to channel its social commitment through the world of basketball.
- In its first edition, the platform will provide a €60,000 fund to support projects aimed at rebuilding sports courts. The objective is also to repair damaged infrastructure and restore resources for clubs and teams across the Valencian Community that were affected by the DANA (a cold drop storm) on 29 October.
- Projects can now be submitted through the platform’s website.
Following the devastating DANA storm on 29 October, Valencia is now in the process of recovery. In addition to the tragic loss of human life, the flooding left a significant impact on local infrastructure—including basketball courts and facilities.
To help with this recovery, Endesa will focus its social responsibility efforts in basketball through Cancha Solidaria Endesa. This year, this initiative will serve to support reconstruction projects across the Valencian basketball community—from clubs and teams to schools, institutions, and local associations affected by the storm.
Cancha Solidaria Endesa is an innovative crowdfunding platform that allows individuals and organisations to submit social projects linked to basketball for funding and professional support.
With the support of FEB and acb, the initiative also offers exclusive incentives to encourage participation.
According to Ignacio Asensi, Head of Sponsorships at Endesa, ‘Cancha Solidaria Endesa continues our long-standing commitment to social action in basketball—from ‘Liga Endesa de Corazón’ to ‘Basket Girlz,’ the initiative aimed at preventing teenage girls from dropping out of the sport.
In today’s context, we want to be where help is needed most—supporting recovery efforts for projects affected by the DANA storm. We’re offering not only financial backing but also strategic support and visibility, helping bring people together around a shared cause. We can’t ignore the reality around us—and we recognise the unique power of sports, especially basketball, as a force for social impact.’
As the driving force behind the platform, Endesa is providing a space to showcase projects and connect them with the community.
Moreover, for every euro donated by the public, Endesa will match it, effectively doubling the contribution—up to €5,000 per project, with a total match cap of €60,000.
Each project will define its funding goal and campaign duration. They will also receive personalised guidance, training, and support from the platform’s professionals to help maximise their success and create long-term community impact.
Exclusive rewards and unique experiences
To further boost participation, FEB and acb will offer exclusive rewards to those who support projects on Cancha Solidaria Endesa—from autographed merchandise to VIP experiences at Liga Endesa games or Spanish National Team events.
How to get involved
The process is simple: any person or organisation with a social project related to basketball can submit it through the 'Cancha Solidaria Endesa' platform. Once approved, the projects will be published on the platform so the community can contribute financially. Endesa will then evaluate the most impactful and viable initiatives to provide additional funding and expert training.
With this initiative, Endesa reaffirms its commitment to basketball as a driver of social change, thus strengthening its connection to the community through solidarity and engagement.
