- The implementation of this new charging infrastructure is part of the agreement signed at the end of 2019 between McDonald's and Endesa X, for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in the car parks at its restaurants in Spain. On a global scale, McDonald's expects to have more than 150 charging stations by the end of 2021.
- The promotion of electric mobility is part of the sustainability commitments of both companies, as a key element in the fight against climate change and on the path towards the energy transition in Spain. For McDonald's, it is part of its "Happy Change" movement, which has three pillars: packaging, recycling and energy.
McDonald's and Endesa X today inaugurated new charging stations for electric cars in the Community of Madrid, specifically in the restaurants located in Alcobendas (Calle Marqués de la Valdavia, 140) and Majadahonda (Polígono Industrial El Carralero - Calle De la Fresa, s/n). They have 50 kW of power and can recharge more than 80% of an electric vehicle's battery in less than thirty minutes.
This project is part of the agreement signed at the end of 2019 between McDonald's and Endesa X to install electric vehicle charging stations in the car parks at its restaurants throughout Spain. McDonald's aims to have more than 150 charging stations by the end of 2021.
This initiative forms part of the sustainability commitments of both Endesa X and McDonald's. At the same time, it is part of the "Happy Change" collaborative movement that McDonald's presented at the beginning of 2020 and that it continues to promote with various initiatives, including the installation of charging facilities. Together they are moving forward with the aim of promoting electric mobility in Spain and, above all, facilitating change and a transition for all customers. The key is to offer them solutions where they need them.
Recharging for everyone
In order to promote the use of electric cars among all users, this service is offered to anyone who comes to McDonald's establishments where the charging infrastructure is installed, with no obligation to eat in the restaurant.
