- Endesa's deployment will start on 29 April and will consist of more than 60 professionals from the company who will be tasked with guaranteeing the normality of the electricity supply during Seville's Annual Festival.
- The electricity firm has invested about 2.5 million in actions for the reinforcement of the Tablada substation and the channelling and laying of conductors to separate the lines that supply the fairground with electricity from those that supply electricity to customers in the district of Los Remedios.
Once again this year, Endesa is rolling out its contingency plan for Seville's Annual Festival. This technical and human deployment consists of more than 60 professionals, activated in coordination with the City Council of Seville to guarantee the normality of the electricity supply during the festivities.
The electricity firm will launch this deployment on 29 April at midnight and will finish it at midnight on 8 May, when the event and the energy demand comparable to the consumption of a city with 50,000 inhabitants, comes to an end.
To this end, during the week long period that Seville's Annual Festival lasts, e-distribución, Endesa's distribution subsidiary, will remain permanently alert at the Tablada substation, the main energy supply point for the fairground. Furthermore, it will set up a genset of 1,600 KVA to restore the supply of electricity in case of a one-off incident.
The actions planned for these festivities will be preceded by previous reviews, inspections and adaptations to the transformation centres, substations and medium-voltage lines that supply the fairground.
With this in mind, Endesa has invested 1.6 million euros in actions to guarantee the quality of the supply to the Tablada substation, from which four direct medium-voltage lines supply the fairground in addition to a further four support lines from the Remedios and Arjona substations.
In addition, the electricity firm is working on a plan to separate the lines supplying the fairground from those that supply electricity to customers in the neighbourhood of Los Remedios, which will have a major impact on the quality of the service.
To this end, Endesa is working non-stop, laying cable ducts as part of an agreement with the Urban Planning Department and the Delegation of Major Festivals, as well as laying drivers as part of an investment worth 880,000 euros. This project is expected to culminate in 2023, with the installation of transformation centres that will supply the lines to the fairground.
Furthermore, in the days leading up to the annual festival, the electricity firm has been performing actions aimed at reviewing and maintaining the different transformation centres distributed around the fairground; these municipal infrastructures are reviewed to ensure their correct operation as part of the festivities, when energy consumption skyrockets.
