- Under the motto, “For passion without limits or barriers”, this weekend the Liga Endesa is bringing the basketball experience to families and fans who, for various reasons, don’t usually get the chance to enjoy it.
- Through the initiative “Basketball for everyone”, Endesa reinforces its commitment to purpose-driven sponsorship by adapting arenas, in collaboration with local associations, so that people with different challenges can fully enjoy the matchday experience.
- The initiative has the support of all ACB clubs and the collaboration of nine social organisations, one for each region.
This weekend (7–8 February), the Liga Endesa celebrates the initiative “Basketball for everyone”, an inclusive basketball initiative as part of Matchday 19. Under the Basket Lover programme and the motto “For passion without limits or barriers”, the initiative will bring the professional basketball experience to individuals and families who, for various reasons, find it difficult or impossible to attend an arena regularly.
During this special matchday, Endesa is offering families with children and young people with physical, sensory, or intellectual disabilities the chance to be true protagonists at a Liga Endesa match, in conditions adapted to their needs. From early arrival to get familiar with the surroundings, to personalised assistance, quiet spaces, and specialised materials such as noise-cancelling headphones or stress-relief toys, the experience has been carefully designed to ensure comfort, safety, and enjoyment.
The initiative will also feature visible elements within the sporting event itself. Players will wear t-shirts with the slogan “Basketball for everyone” during warm-ups, children will take part in the traditional ball handovers adapted to their circumstances, and at some matches inclusive activities on the court will take place, such as wheelchair basketball games or interactive sessions led by the participants themselves. All of this is made possible with the cooperation of Liga Endesa clubs and their foundations, as well as various social organisations.

Through “Basketball for everyone”, Endesa once again demonstrates the strength and continuity of its social commitment through sports sponsorship. In fact, this initiative has two precedents: during the 2024-2025 Liga Endesa Playoffs, a child with autism from the Real Madrid Foundation handed over the match ball. The arena was adapted to meet the sound and lighting conditions the child required. And in the 2019-2020 season, a child with Asperger’s attended a Perfumerías Avenida match equipped with headphones and was able to hand over the ball to the players.
These actions show that sports, and basketball in particular, are a tool for inclusion and transformation, one that is only truly complete when no one is left out. In this way, “Basketball for everyone” will turn this Liga Endesa matchday into a symbol of equality, empathy, and recognition of diversity both on and off the court.
