What is the VEM Fair and when does it take place?

The VEM Fair is Spain’s largest urban showcase for electric mobility. Organised by AEDIVE (Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility), with support from the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid, this annual event aims to bring zero-emission mobility closer to the public.

The 2025 edition will take place from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September at Plaza de Colón, right in the heart of Madrid. It coincides with European Mobility Week (16–22 September), an initiative that promotes more sustainable transportation habits across Europe.

What can you expect at the Madrid Electric Vehicle Fair?

Over three days, visitors will have the chance to experience the latest advancements in e-mobility firsthand:

Highlights of VEM 2025

The fair kicks off on Friday, 19 September, at noon with the official opening, which will be attended by institutional representatives and the media. Attendees will include the Third Vice President and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen; the Regional Minister of Environment, Agriculture, and Interior of the Community of Madrid, Carlos Novillo; and the General Coordinator of Mobility at the City Council, María José Aparicio.

On Saturday and Sunday, the atmosphere will become more family-oriented, with activities for all ages: workshops, talks, children’s areas, and vehicle test drives. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience electric mobility firsthand.

This year, electric mobility will take centre stage in multiple areas of the city. Coinciding with the VEM Fair, the Jardín de las Delicias festival is also embracing sustainability with measures such as electric shuttle buses provided by EMT to facilitate access to the venue and free parking for the first 50 electric cars at Ciudad Universitaria. These two distinct events are connected by a shared vision: advancing toward cleaner, more efficient, and accessible mobility for everyone.
