Randstad Spain joins the SAVIA social project as an employment partner that offers work training and opportunities to unemployed professionals aged over 50.
In Spain, approximately one million professionals aged over 50 are unemployed, according to latest data from the Spanish Office of National Statistics corresponding to the first quarter of 2018. In light of this situation, the Endesa Foundation in collaboration with máshumano Foundation, have launched the social initiative SAVIA, a digital hub to improve employability and generate work opportunities for professionals aged over 50.
Within the map of SAVIA collaborators, Randstad Spain joins as a collaborator of reference in the employment field and provides more than 4500 job vacancies each day. The human resources solutions leader company also incorporates knowledge of the labour market by means of studies and reports drawn up from its studies and analysis centre, Randstad Research and from a social viewpoint, thanks to the activity of Randstad Values.
SAVIA turns into a meeting point between senior professionals aged over 50, and organisations from the corporate and social fields that seeks to promote a cultural change by offering them solutions to the social and Spanish entrepreneurship sector that brings the work environment closer to great professionals who have both talent and experience. We have a responsibility and a challenge ahead of us to achieve full employability for these professionals with the purpose of them giving back again and channelling all their talent to companies which without a doubt will drive Spain’s corporate activity forwards”, explains Carlos Gómez-Múgica, Director General of the Endesa Foundation.
For Randstad, this social initiative goes one step further in tackling a key problem for companies and society. ‘’SAVIA provides a response to a social concern of people aged over 50 who wish to stay active on the labour market and provide all their experience and knowledge to extremely diverse projects”, explains María Viver, Director of the Randstad Foundation.
We live in a period where digitalisation, changes to the economic and social paradigms, together with the effects of a lengthy and serious credit crunch have especially impacted the way we do business, disconnecting this group of workers, among others, from the labour market. SAVIA therefore manages to be the space of reference as a digital HUB that combines services and resources, generates activity and inspires changes to value the experience and talent of the generation of professionals aged over 50.
Two months after its launch, SAVIA already has 30,000 unique users with more than 7000 seniors registered and approximately 200 organisations signed up on the platform.
