The Basketball Euroleague and its new regional sponsor, the leading utility company in Spain, Endesa, kicked off the new season today. Jordi Bertomeu, the Euroleague Basketball President and CEO and Borja Prado, Chairman of Endesa, marked the official start of the three-year association between the two parties, accompanied by Fabien Causeur, from Real Madrid, Víctor Claver, from FC Barcelona Lassa, Rafa Martínez, from Valencia Basket, Jordan McRae from Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, and Dejan Musli, from Unicaja de Málaga.
Endesa, the leading company in the Spanish electricity sector, has been a firm supporter of basketball over the years, through numerous events and sponsorships. By becoming a regional sponsor of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup, Endesa has joined the family of Euroleague Basketball partners, which includes leaders in various sectors that have already benefited from the market exposure gained through the different formats launched last season.
Borja Prado: “Our collaboration agreement with the Euroleague is a very important cornerstone of Endesa’s well-known commitment to Spanish basketball. It brings together the best teams every year. We cannot cover Spanish basketball as a whole, and this is not our intention. But we do want to loyally collaborate by supporting Spanish basketball to the extent that our resources allow”.
According to the agreement, the Endesa brand will be present at all the EuroLeague and EuroCup events held in Spain and on digital and broadcast platforms. Off the court, Endesa fully undertakes to improve the experience of EuroLeague and EuroCup enthusiasts, by creating unique content to attract more fans and to sponsor events throughout the season.
Statement from Jordi Bertomeu: “We are immensely proud to join Endesa with its constant hard work and dedication to basketball over so many years.
Therefore, over the next three seasons, the Euroleague Basketball will join a brand highly acclaimed for its leadership and prestige. We trust that we will be able to carry out significant plans and offer fans a better product, which is the main aim of this agreement".
