- Registration remains open on the programme's official website, so the first 1,000 teachers to sign up will receive experimentation kits to participate in this school year.
- This online platform is part of the Endesa Educa educational project, through which the Endesa Foundation has been teaching about the world of energy and promoting energy savings in classrooms for over 20 years.
To mark the International Day of Education on 24 January and the World Environmental Education Day on 26 January, the Endesa Foundation underscores its commitment to quality education through various educational initiatives. Among these, we can find the Endesa Educa Digital programme. This interactive online educational platform is designed to teach young students about energy, its responsible use, and environmental care. Targeting 3rd and 4th-grade primary school students across Spain, Endesa Educa Digital facilitates practical, easy, and accessible learning without geographical limitations, allowing students to learn while having fun.
Through the provision of experimentation kits, students engage in ‘energy missions’ that invite them to explore key topics such as renewable energy and sustainable mobility—essential for understanding the climate challenges of the future. These kits, provided free of charge to the first 1,000 registered teachers, include turbines, batteries, and die-cut materials—tools that enable students to learn by building and experimenting with energy solutions.
Additionally, all registered schools can participate in a contest. Its prize, valued at 2,000 euros, is aimed at improving the school's equipment or electrical infrastructure, directly benefiting the participating educational communities. Furthermore, the three finalist schools will receive an in-class educational experience led by an expert. This activity will be conducted before the end of the academic year on a date agreed upon between the teacher and the Endesa Educa team.
Since its launch in 2019, Endesa Educa Digital has reached 86,670 students from 1,564 schools, with the support of more than 1,800 teachers utilising the programme’s resources. Over its five editions, nearly 3,000 free experimentation kits have been distributed. This way, it allowed students nationwide to develop practical, collaborative projects centred on key topics such as energy transition and sustainable mobility.
One example of the transformative impact of Endesa Educa Digital is the Ntra. Sra. de la Providencia school in Palencia, which has participated in five consecutive editions. According to Cresencia López, a natural sciences teacher for 3rd and 4th-grade students and the school's Environmental Education Plan coordinator, since joining the programme: they have ‘seen an improvement in students' environmental awareness, as they are now more conscious of the significance of energy conservation and environmental protection.’ She also noted that the programme ‘is a wonderful opportunity to engage students in relevant and current topics’ and that ‘students are excited and curious when working with the materials.’ These stories demonstrate how access to innovative educational resources and early environmental awareness can drive real change in educational communities.
Teachers interested in registering for Endesa Educa Digital still have time to participate in this edition and secure one of the 1,000 experimentation kits. Registration is open on the programme’s official website.
Endesa Educa Digital is part of the Endesa Educa project, which has been integrating sustainability and energy education into Spanish schools for over 20 years. The platform also offers a wide range of free educational resources on its website, ensuring that learning can continue both in classrooms and at home. Additionally, it provides in-person workshops in schools and offers students and teachers the opportunity to visit Endesa's renewable energy facilities.
