What is energy, how is it produced and how does it reach our homes? To teach children a little about energy, the Endesa Foundation and the Endesa Educa have reopened the doors of Endesa's renewable energy installations for free visits to groups of schoolchildren from different parts of Spain. Endesa is a division of Enel Green Power Spain. Students will learn about the power generation process, the operation of the plants, their main safety and security measures and the essential work done by the professionals who work in them on a daily basis. This involves dynamic, entertaining educational activities.
This initiative, which had to be suspended due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, is free and lasts approximately one and a half hours. It is designed for students of ESO and Baccalaureate levels, Training Cycles and Universities throughout the country, and helps in the development of their communication, mathematical, scientific and technological skills.
The Endesa Educa project was created almost 30 years ago with the aim of disseminating knowledge about energy and sustainability. It shows how the energy world works and how it can be used efficiently and rationally and benefits more than 45,000 children and young people throughout Spain every year. More than 62,000 students from 1,200 schools have already visited Endesa's plants, and there have been a total 2,400 activities in installations in a number of Spanish provinces. Since November 2021 alone, 361 students and 18 teachers have participated in this initiative.

In addition to these guided tours and activities in Endesa's information centres, the project displays a broad collection of educational resources on its website and for three years the Endesa Educa Digital programme has been available. This is a 100% online platform that enables teachers and students to teach and learn about energy from anywhere while having fun meeting energy challenges to reach the final goal: Saving the world.
