Endesa has released through the web endesaenergychallenges.com/es/hackathon the name of the 40 successful candidates to participate in the company’s first Hackathon, an encounter on 27 and 28 November that will bring together the most creative talents to develop innovative mobile solutions allowing customers to optimize their use of energy.
Since last October, with the call to participate in the first challenge of the Endesa Energy Challenges platform, more than 200 young talents from all over Spain and from abroad have registered to take part in Endesa’s innovative challenge. Among those enrolled, most are from the Community of Madrid (57.6%) and Catalonia (17.6%), while it received over 8% of requests from other countries: USA, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Mexico, and Santo Domingo. Notably, 20% of candidates have an entrepreneurial profile.
The 40 programmers, entrepreneurs and creative talents selected will be divided into teams of four, and within 72 hours, they must present an innovative idea for consumers to make more efficient use of energy. A jury of experts will evaluate each proposal to be presented in just three minutes. The winning team will receive a prize of € 6,000, and the teams in second and third place will receive € 3,000 and € 1,000 respectively.
The encounter will be attended by international experts who will coordinate the work following the latest innovation methodologies such as Design Thinking, thus helping the customer to become the centre of the solutions being offered by the most innovative minds. Design Thinking is an innovation discipline to match people’s needs with what is technologically feasible and what a viable business strategy can make valuable for the customer and an opportunity for the market.
