Endesa Music Lover: In favour of sustainable music
There are more and more music festivals and even the break due to the COVID-19 pandemic has not reduced their popularity. Proof of this have been the sold out posters that we have seen at countless festivals this summer, making it clear that the great community of Music Lovers in Spain is ready to enjoy live music again.
But the lack of festivals during these years has also helped to raise our awareness of another reality that we need to address: The importance of caring for the environment.
Can live music become a sustainable leisure option? Of course it can! Endesa is firmly committed to promoting culture and to sustainability, which is why it launched the Endesa Music Lover initiative, which will enable us to reduce the impact of the carbon footprint in music festivals and concerts.
Sustainability is undoubtedly one of the key features of Endesa's philosophy and to apply this to music is a great challenge. But respect for the environment and the rational use of resources should become an essential requirement for everyone.
This is why in 2022 Endesa has become a sustainable Partner of the WiZink Centre, and a Sustainable Sponsor of the El Jardín de las Delicias Festival. With both sponsorships, Endesa aims to strengthen its position as a promoter of climate-conscious events in order to accelerate the decarbonisation process within the sector.
Clear evidence of this commitment are the agreements that have already been signed to ensure that the energy for the shows and concerts is 100% green. This is something that those attending these events demand more and more every day, as a reflection of their concern for climate change. What could be better than enjoying good music whilst being committed to sustainable entertainment?
Endesa's sustainability principles include its defence of the circular economy, optimal use of resources, a reduction in the consumption of raw materials and the re-use of waste. This is the reason for appeals to the responsible use of water at events, the re-use of glasses, the use of sustainable energy, the sale of local, fresh products, as well as using public transport or electric mobility when attending events. These are just some of the many other actions that can reduce the impact on the environment.
