Endesa has renewed its collaboration with the publication of the 2021 Ornithological Yearbook for the Balearic Islands (volume 36), a support that once again shows Endesa's commitment to the environment and the preservation of nature and indigenous species. As part of Endesa's Sustainability Plan in the Balearic Islands, the company is maintaining its commitment, since it has been collaborating with this entity for thirty years.
The presentation of the latest volume, which took place at Endesa's headquarters in Sant Joan de Déu, was attended by the president of the GOB, Amadeu Corbera, the head of the ornithology area of the GOB, Manuel Suárez, and the General Manager of Endesa in the Balearic Islands, Martí Ribas.
The 2021 Ornithological Yearbook of the Balearic Islands (volume 36), which for thirty-six years has been consolidating its work year after year, is highly prestigious and has significant scientific interest. Endesa is very pleased to renew this support due to the high quality and scientific importance. With this collaboration, the Company is reinforcing its commitment to projects of great social impact and environmental preservation, with entities committed to the Balearic Islands.
In addition to the usual ornithological records that provide a vision of ornithological activity in 2021, this year's edition includes the following articles: "The first photographic census of the black vulture (Aegypius monachus) in Mallorca", and "New data on reproduction and the occupation of nest boxes by the Mediterranean flycatcher (Muscicapa tyrrhenica - subspecies balearica) in Mallorca".
The following brief notes are also worth special mention: Aspects to take into account when identifying the hybrids of species including rabassot and rabassot petit (Aythya ferina x nyroca).
It should be remembered the enormous prestige within the scientific field enjoyed by the Ornithological Yearbook for the Balearic Islands, and the recognition it has received in previous years within the Latindex project, in the III Workshop on obtaining bibliometric indicators and scientific activity.
