- Top experts in the field of urban management and sustainable mobility are due to be in attendance at the event, to be held on 20 and 21 September at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga.
- Endesa X, the sponsor of this forum, will propose key initiatives for making cities climate-neutral in terms of their carbon footprint through smart public lighting, energy efficiency in buildings, electric public transport, solar generation for self-consumption and more sustainable seaports, to name just a few of the areas of action to be addressed.
Endesa X, Endesa's business line responsible for offering innovative technological solutions in the field of energy to achieve energy efficiency, will participate in the 13th edition of the Urban Intelligence and Sustainability Forum, Greencities & S-Moving 2023. The event will play host to top experts in the field of urban management and the mobility of the future, to be held on 20 and 21 September at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga.
At the event, Endesa X will share its most innovative proposals with attendees for achieving smarter, more sustainable and efficient cities through electrification, decarbonisation and resource optimisation.
To this end, Endesa X has multiple solutions for reversing the fact that urban environments are the greatest depleters of resources and the largest generators of waste and emissions on the planet, with the significant impact on the environment that this has:
- Smart energy services for the transformation of efficient public lighting.
- Integrated green transport solutions for transport operators.
- End-to-end energy efficiency for the renovation of central air conditioning systems in buildings, in addition to the decarbonisation of gas or diesel boilers using high-temperature heat pumps.
- Installation of solar plants for buildings or in a shared savings mode as well as local energy communities.
- Systems for connecting ships to the onshore electricity grid during their stay at ports to avoid the pollution caused by auxiliary engines used to keep the vessel running.
- Energy management service using Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence and data homogenisation for the measurement and continuous control of energy consumption and for making them more efficient.
- Planning of Smart City services based on actual demand through the collection, study and systematic processing of Big Data.
José María Reyes, Head of Green Ports Business Development at Endesa X, will address all these topics on 20 September as part of his participation in the forum entitled "Where are we on the path to decarbonisation? Goals and roadmap", offering public administrations solutions for making cities climate neutral in terms of their carbon footprint.
In terms of sustainable mobility, he will share information about the e-bus initiative, a project that promotes emission-free electric public transport and which already boasts more than 280 chargers distributed across Spain with the main transport operators.
He will also provide details on Endesa's commitment to the decarbonisation of port environments as part of the e-Port initiative, based on the generation of renewable energy and shared consumption, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and the circular economy, drawing on specific examples including the Port of Bahía de Cádiz, where Endesa X will be the first Spanish company level to offer electricity supply services to cruise ships through an OPS (On‐ shore Power Supply).
This is all thanks to Endesa X's role as a technological partner, offering support to companies, professionals, institutions and public administrations as part of their digitalisation and energy efficiency processes through a platform of digitalised infrastructures and innovative services.
What's more, Endesa X will have its own stand at Greencities, where visitors will be able to consult information on all the solutions offered by the company to reduce their carbon footprint and promote energy efficiency.
Greencities 2023 will chart the course for the future and expand on the blueprint for the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the 2030 agenda, to which Endesa and Endesa X are deeply committed.
