- According to the agreement, which lasts for eight years, Endesa will develop and manage the city of Lyon’s first natural vehicular gas supply station, which will provide biogas to trucks.
- The use of natural gas as a fuel allows particulate emissions to be reduced by 95%, SOx emissions by 100% and NOx emissions by 60%.
Endesa has signed an agreement with the French transport company CityLogistics to supply vehicular natural gas and bio methane for the company's entire fleet of vehicles in the city of Lyon. The agreement, which lasts for eight years, consists of supplying natural gas to the growing fleet of vehicles that CityLogistics has in the French city.
The use of NVG (Natural Vehicular Gas) as a fuel will allow for vehicle fleet operating costs to be reduced and will represent a significant environmental improvement, since NVG allows particulate emissions to be reduced by 95%, SOx emissions by 100% and NOx emissions by 65%. In addition to being a renewable fuel, it is considered neutral in terms of CO2 emissions.
As part of the agreement, Endesa will also finance, construct and manage energy services for a new natural gas supply station for vehicles in Lyon. This station will go into service at the end of this November.
This project is part of the new energy trading business development plan and value-added services that Endesa will implement in the coming years in France.
Endesa, which is part of the Enel group, began selling gas in Europe in 2000, and currently has a strong presence in France, where it provides energy solutions to professionals and large customers, with a long term implementation strategy.
