What is the Social Bonus and how do you request it?

The Social Bonus is regulated by the government and aims to protect households considered vulnerable or severely vulnerable on account of their socio-economic conditions. To take advantage of the Social Bonus you must have the PVPC electricity tariff as the only electricity companies authorised to offer the Social Bonus are regulated market retailers, and a power equal to or less than ten kilowatts in your primary residence. 

Applying for the Social Bonus is completely free of charge.

You can apply for the Social Bonus if your income does not exceed certain levels, you are a pensioner, a large family or a recipient of the minimum wage.
