Waking up at the Parador in Alcañiz is an unexpected pleasure of this third stage. We can see the whole region from above and a horizon that would take us to Huesca.
The landscape between these two sites is one of the most arid in the peninsula and gives rise to some spectacular moments to enjoy driving.
We began the day with a picnic inside the Parador to taste the vegetables and cheeses that are so famous in the area.
This picnic could not fail to have pink tomatoes. Samantha and Bienvenido, the Endesa employee that took part in the stage, simulated a chapter of MasterChef with the challenge of preparing the perfect picnic whilst our cameras recorded another chapter from the tour’s miniseries.
Another surprise brought by this stage was the opportunity to film inside the Alcañiz circuit. There was a great sensation of sharing the same asphalt as so many motorcycling greats.
After an initial tour to get to know the circuit the second time, both wanted to win. In one car, the Mayor of Alcañiz, Juan Carlos Gracia Suso; in the other Samantha with Bienvenido. Finally, the mayor, a motorcar devotee, won because he came to the circuit with the clearest ideas.
After several kilometres, we arrived at Huesca where the local authorities received us.
Apart from authorities, a large number of neighbours came up close to meet the celebrity. A woman promoting local confectionery products whilst sellers from the ONCE (Spanish Association of Blind People) stand took photos with the MasterChef judge.

The 2nd Tour of Spain in Electric Vehicle uses two kinds of efficient vehicle currently on the market:
The Kia Soul EV, with zero emissions, electric autonomy of up to 250 km and innovative technology that enables recovering up to 12% of kinetic energy; the battery recharges when braking and in retention.
On our journey, we also used the Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid (Niro PHEV) that combines major versatility with very low fuel consumption and emissions. Therefore, it has the ZERO label and can drive free of restrictions during the high contamination episodes in major cities. It enjoys bonuses when parked in regulated areas. The 100% electric version of this model comes out on the market soon.
The scooter hunt is gaining pace to be a competition in its own right, but four people said they were the first to find the car parked in the city. Finally Carmen was the winner. Congratulations! Follow us in real time on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #eVuelta.
Legal foundations of the call.
*Estimated consumption data from the electric vehicle calculated according to prevailing tariffs. The hybrid model with electric autonomy of 58 km, has a combined consumption of 1.3 L/100 km.
