- Twenty-two of the trainees have already been hired by Endesa to work at solar plants in the area and 12 have been selected for gradual incorporation depending on the project's demand.
- The utility has been committed to this initiative since 2018, when the first renewable energy training courses were held, and the trend has been increasing, with 878 people having been trained in Extremadura since then.
Through its renewable energy subsidiary Enel Green Power España and in collaboration with Soltec, Endesa has trained 70 Extremadura residents in solar panel assembly, as part of the courses the company recently held in Torrecillas de la Tiesa, Trujillo and the Tierra de Badajoz region.
At the diploma award ceremony, the students recognised the value of this training, which enables them to forge a future career in an ever-growing market, as renewable energies are the future and the present of energy. In this regard, 22 students have already been hired by Endesa to assemble solar panels at the plants being built in the area and another 12 have been selected for gradual incorporation depending on the demand of the project.
These training courses were held in partnership with the town councils of the municipalities, who were responsible for selecting the participants, prioritising those registered in the surrounding municipalities and the unemployed, two characteristics that were shared by everyone enrolled in these courses. In addition, Endesa is requesting contractors to make a commitment to hire as many local workers as possible, ensuring that these people are trained in these courses. This requirement is currently being met.
The utility has been committed to this initiative since 2018, when the first renewable energy training courses were held, and the trend has been increasing, with 878 people having been trained in Extremadura since then. Endesa aims to continue offering training courses and expects to close the year with an additional 175 people trained in this Spanish Autonomous Community, via its renewable energy subsidiary, Enel Green Power España.
Endesa is committed to this region for the development of new renewable capacity in order to achieve the goal of total decarbonisation of its energy mix by 2040. The rich solar production available in Extremadura is leading the company to continue studying new opportunities throughout the region, always bearing in mind the socio-economic development implied by renewable projects.
