- The "Madrid Excelente" seal is given to companies and institutions to recognise and certify their commitment to excellence, and also as proof of their commitment to innovation, constant improvement and for their active contribution to the economic and social development of Madrid, all of which are for the benefit of citizens.
- The independent external audit conducted as part of the award process highlighted Endesa's commitment to its values and purpose, based on different areas, such as excellence, corporate responsibility or consumer trust, contributing to the progress of society as a whole.
Endesa, a leading company in the Spanish electricity sector and the second largest operator in the Portuguese electricity market, has been granted with the "Madrid Excelente" seal by the Autonomous Community of Madrid for its commitment to sustainability and to helping create a new energy model based on clean energy, protection of the natural environment and sustainable development.
The quality seal awarded by the Autonomous Community of Madrid recognises the excellence in management of organisations and institutions that are committed to quality, innovation, social responsibility and customer-centric. Placing a priority on people, Endesa has 9,260 employees and focuses its efforts on providing its 10 million customers with a better service and structures its business strategy around a commitment to local communities and a contribution to the United Nations SDGs. Furthermore, it integrates sustainability into all aspects of the company with a view to creating value for society, help in the fight against climate change, and drive inclusion, diversity, ethics and transparency.
This seal requires companies and entities to pass several phases, including an external assessment, assessment by a quality committee and final approval from the Governing Board. To this end, the Cámara Certifica auditor tasked with the independent assessment highlighted the participation of companies of the stature of Endesa in this process, which share the same values and a purpose involving issues like excellence, corporate responsibility or consumer trust, contributing to the progress of society as a whole.
In line with other models of international excellence, the "Madrid Excellence" brand values the principles of leadership, processes, people, innovation, customers, partnerships, social responsibility and results, in line with three modules: Excellence, Social Responsibility and Customer and Consumer Trust.
