- Endesa Energía has won the tender to supply all electricity to the Government of the Balearic Islands, estimated at 250 GWh/year, using energy from renewable sources.
- The agreement also includes the installation and replacement of conventional lightbulbs with energy-saving LEDs, at the Insular Health and Consumer Center facilities on Ibiza and Formentera, in Ibiza (154 lightbulbs, 6.8 kW) and at the IES Marc Ferrer, in Formentera (401 lightbulbs, 27.4 kW).
Endesa has been awarded the tender by the Ministry of Finance and Foreign Affairs for the new energy agreement of the Government of the Balearic Islands. This agreement represents a new commitment to the supply of 100% renewable energy to the more than 850 supply points of the Balearic Government.
The agreement between Endesa Energía and the Government establishes the price of electricity supplies applicable to all agreements of the Government of the Balearic Islands for a 5-month period (from 1 October 2022 to 28 February 2023). In addition, the total electricity demand of the Administration's buildings and facilities, estimated at 250 GWh/year will come with the "Green Energy" certification. As part of this commitment to renewable energy, the Government has completely eliminated CO2 emissions from its facilities.
The agreement also includes the installation and performance of works to replace conventional lightbulbs with new LED alternatives, offering a higher quality technology that provides significant benefits from an environmental and economic perspective, given that this type of lightbulb consumes less power. This overhaul will be carried out as part of the agreement and will be entrusted to Endesa's energy services subsidiary, Endesa X, at the facilities of the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs in Ibiza (154 lightbulbs, 6.8 kW) and at the IES Marc Ferrer in Formentera (401 lightbulbs, 27.4 kW).
