The agreement also facilitates management and eliminates uncertainty for managers and owners about what they are going to pay on the electricity and gas bill for their tourist accommodation, as Endesa offers a stable monthly fee (Única Tariff) to members of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Tourist Accommodation and Apartments.
More than 185,000 tourist homes and apartments can become energy sustainable thanks to the agreement reached between Endesa and FEVITUR, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Tourist Homes and Apartments. With this alliance, all members will be able to easily sign up for Única, which customises their energy supplies with renewable, sustainable and green energy through a stable fee.
The objective of the agreement is manifold. Firstly, it aligns with the decarbonisation objectives of the buildings and construction sector, as according to data from the International Energy Agency, the combination of the two is responsible for 30% of total global final energy consumption and 27% of total emissions from the energy sector. Thus, all the homes and apartments represented by FEVITUR, encompassed in 22 associations, will have the possibility of making a difference and consuming energy in a more sustainable way.
In this regard, Endesa offers all members 100% renewable and green electricity certified by the Spanish Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC). If they also contract gas, Endesa offsets CO2 linked to the gas consumption of Única's customers through participation in forestry projects that contribute to climate change mitigation, verified by leading national and international standards. These projects are based on the reduction of emissions thanks to the sink effect of forests, so they are accredited as sustainable because they achieve social benefits for the local population and help preserve vulnerable species.
Furthermore, the alliance will allow managers and owners to have the peace of mind of knowing how much they are going to pay each month, regardless of whether they have the whole month rented or not. In this way, their management will be much easier, as they will pay a stable and personalised fee. In this regard, the Única Tariff is individually adapted to the consumption of each supply, and FEVITUR members will be able to self-contract it through an exclusive website, where, thanks to the platform's predictive models, the consumption history of the supply in question will be analysed, and different options adapted in a personalised way to their habits will be presented: It can include electricity, gas and assistance service.
