The Research Foundation at the University of Seville and Endesa have today signed a collaboration agreement through which the electricity firm, as part of its commitment to sustainable mobility, has once again become the main sponsor for the development of a new electric vehicle that will compete in Formula Student, the most important university engineering competition in the world.
Present at the ceremony, which took place in the workshop of the Arus Andalucía Racing team, located at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI), were: the general manager of Endesa for Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla, Rafael Sánchez Durán; the director of the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI), Francisco Rodríguez Rubio; the Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer at the University of Seville, Manuel Felipe Rosa Iglesias, and the Team Manager of the ARUS Andalucía Racing Team, Juan Rengel Berrocal.
After signing the agreement, those responsible for its ratification had the opportunity to find out first-hand about the work undertaken by the more than 95 students from different degrees at the University of Seville to compete in the design, development, construction and driving of an electric single-seater race car.
For the general manager of Endesa for Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla "this sponsorship serves as another example of Endesa's commitment to the energy transition through the electrification of consumption, as well as the company's commitment to continuous innovation and dual training, in which students can participate in a real professional experience".
This agreement renews Endesa's commitment to the University of Seville, as part of which it had already sponsored the car designed and manufactured by 90 students from different degrees in 2018, becoming the only Spanish team to compete in both categories, electric and combustion, of Formula Student, the F1 for students in which more than 600 universities from around the world participate.
As part of this new season, the Arus Andalucía Racing team will design and build a new electric car thanks to the work of the 95 students who will participate in this educational project, sponsored by Endesa, demonstrating the company's commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility.
Arus Andalucía Racing Team
