A 40% is a good probability for rain, but in the end the As Pontes sky behaved quite well to inaugurate the #eVuelta. As the day went on, the sun pierced through the centre, leaving us with a perfect morning to begin our journey.
Among schoolchildren of different ages and curious employees, we saw a Pepe Rodríguez eager to begin this project. The #eVuelta 2018 has decided to count on both him and Samantha, iconic figures of TVE's Master Chef. He was responsible for inaugurating this first stage between As Pontes and Santiago. A journey of just under an hour together with Cristina, an Endesa employee.
Cristina drove to the City of Culture of Santiago, where they were welcomed by the Councillor among other city authorities to take the customary photo with a spectacular architectonic backdrop. Throughout the whole journey, we recorded what will be chapter 1 of the #eVuelta.
After photos in the City of Culture of Santiago we headed to L’Horta D’obradoiro, on Las Hortas street, a restaurant barely 3 years old, but with a powerful supply, halfway between traditional Galician cooking and new trends. All its employees were thrilled to have Pepe in the restaurant. “Can we take a photo with him later?”, they asked.
The chef and employee took full advantage to taste typical gastronomy and did not waver when asking for a healthy ration of Padrón green peppers. Will Pepe tell the difference between Padrón peppers and normal peppers? Will he find one spicy? We encourage you to view our video summaries for each stage to find out whether he found them spicy or not.

The 2nd Tour of Spain in Electric Vehicle uses two kinds of efficient vehicle currently on the market:
The Kia Soul EV, with zero emissions, electric autonomy of up to 250 km and innovative technology that enables recovering up to 12% of kinetic energy; the battery recharges when braking and in retention.
On our journey, we also used the Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid (Niro PHEV) that combines major versatility with very low fuel consumption and emissions. Therefore, it has the ZERO label and can drive free of restrictions during the high contamination episodes in major cities. It enjoys bonuses when parked in regulated areas. The 100% electric version of this model comes out on the market soon.
As with each stage, we are giving away an electric scooter to the first person to find the car we leave in the city with the clues given out on social media. This time, it was Carlos but next time the lucky person could be you; thanks to this initiative you can start to move in an electric vehicle and contribute to a less contaminated world.
Follow us in real time on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #eVuelta.
Legal foundations of the call.
*Estimated consumption data from the electric vehicle calculated according to prevailing tariffs. The hybrid model with electric autonomy of 58 km, has a combined consumption of 1.3 L/100 km.
