The Basketball is Life initiative is an association dedicated to improving the conditions of children suffering from cancer, which was one of the five Stories for Basketball Lovers awarded a prize in 2020 and enjoys the collaboration of The Ricky Rubio Foundation. This is the start of a tour that will include a number of Spanish cities to promote solidarity with a view to improving the conditions of children suffering from cancer and the first stop will be in Badalona, with the support of the Club Joventut Badalona.
Prominent figures such as Tresco, Ari Geli, Papi Gavi, Edu Esteve and Luca, from The Ricky Rubio Foundation's Luca project, are just some of the participants already confirmed for the event. Basketball will be the central feature of the project and participants will include a combination of YouTubers, actors, musicians, comedians and models, and there will be fun, comedy, gifts, dance and musical performances at halftime. Tickets can be purchased now at the price of €8 on: www.penya.com, the Club's website.
The money raised will go to one of the most outstanding projects promoted by The Ricky Rubio Foundation together with the La Caixa Foundation: A new Paediatric Gymnasium at the Vall d'Hebron Hospital, a modern physical rehabilitation unit that will play a key role in the active recovery of patients undergoing orthopaedic treatment, and those recovering from transplants and complex surgery.
About Liga Endesa de Corazón
Liga Endesa de Corazón is a social programme promoted by Endesa and the ACB. The project aims to promote social transformation through the values of basketball: Equality, sustainability, companionship and hard work. This initiative lies within the framework of support for 'Basketball is Life', a project closely linked to Endesa since it was one of the five Stories for Basketball Lovers recently awarded a prize together with Academia 675 (an inclusion project), Jump the Line (promoting social fabric within a neighbourhood), La Vall d’Uixó Bàsquet (which turned a lorry workshop into a basketball court) and Ecoballution (involving the recycling of fishermen's nets for basketball baskets). For further details, go to Stories for Basketball Lovers. Endesa has not only established synergies between all these initiatives, it has also maintained a relationship with them and provided support at different times.
