- Once again, Endesa has renewed its collaboration agreement with one of the most traditional cultural institutions in Catalonia, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and has done so by focussing on promoting a virtual platform that makes a wide variety of musical content available to everyone.
- With content including a total of 120 musical items recorded with high quality, Palau Digital was founded with the vocation of bringing music to people of all ages, especially the youngest, and using informative formats to provide them with resources to understand it and so be able to enjoy it with greater intensity.
- Endesa is reaffirming its commitment to culture, considering it a heritage for everyone, and expanding its musical sponsorship to promote it throughout Spain.
Since it first appeared in February 2019, so far a total of 86,904 people have accessed at least a part of the content available on Palau Digital, the Palau de la Música Catalana's virtual platform that offers, free of charge, concerts and other informative content linked to the cultural and musical activities of the Palau de la Música Catalana and makes them available to all people of all ages. A project that Endesa has supported since it was created in February 2019, and which focusses on a recently renewed annual collaboration agreement. The company is firmly committed cultural sponsorship, specifically to musical sponsorship that it understands "with a purpose" and the will to bring music and culture to new audiences, especially to younger people, for which Palau Digital uses informative formats to provide them with a resource that will help them better understand music and so be able to enjoy it as part of a more meaningful experience.
The platform has had a total of about 298,000 views since its launch and has four different categories of content:
- Concerts: There are as many as 45 works, both universal and those typical of the Catalan musical heritage. These include essential works ranging from the Requiem by Mozart and St Mathew's Passion by Bach, to premieres of contemporary works by Catalan composers such as Ferran Cruixent and Marc Timón, together with the traditional San Esteban concerts. They are all outstanding productions from the programming of the Palau de la Música and the Orfeó Català recorded with high quality technology. Of these concerts, 19 were broadcast live and by streaming.
- Musical perspectives: These are 21 informative capsules that, despite being designed for people with a great love of music, are also accessible and enriching for all those who follow the Palau. They are conceived with an artistic format and are carefully directed.
- Conferences and dialogues: This category includes informative conferences to help people understand better and enrich their musical experience. There is a comprehensive series of activities complementary to the programming of the Palau de la Música Catalana, 11 in total.
- Palau 360: This is a section consisting of 17 pieces that give voice to the Palau's leading performers and the choirs: There is room for singers, artists, the human team, collaborators and sponsors, etc.
- Extra: A category with a content consisting of 22 different items, including documentaries, video clips and sessions of l'Hivernacle, the series of activities that complement the musical programme, such as a poetry recital entitled Legados que viven, conducted by Anna Guail and Jaume C. Pons Alorda and a performance of Los Sara Fontan, with singers from the Órfeó Catalá. An extra with a different outlook on the cultural activities of the Palau de la Música.
Palau Digital was a pioneering initiative throughout Spain at the time of its premiere. An innovative activity that was consolidated during the pandemic, when culture could only be enjoyed through telematics, and this has now become an essential meeting space for cultural activities and all those people with musical and cultural concerns. It is also a way to reach new audiences and especially younger people, who have yet to make a start in the world of music. An objective that it shares with Endesa and to which the company is especially committed. With this in mind, the @EndesaMusicLover profile on the social networks, as an essential part of this collaboration, organises a number of draws and promotions throughout the year at different concerts to also make the cultural activities of the Palau de la Música Catalana to Endesa music lovers.
The renewal of this agreement is yet another example of Endesa's commitment to culture, a commitment that has been reflected in its sponsorship policy for many years and which the company wishes to reinforce in a very special way at a time when the industry is going through a difficult period. This has led Endesa to collaborate with entities including the Ymas Association of Theatrical Producers and the Teatro Real. With all of them, collaboration was aimed at making the wealth of culture accessible to everyone, opening new possibilities for its creation and making it available to new audiences by means of a number of initiatives. To this we should add a commitment to making culture sustainable. So 2022 saw the creation of a new feature, the Jardín de las Delicias Festival and the corresponding Tour. In 2023 Endesa is maintaining that commitment and expanding the number of events with a common purpose: To help the festival sector on the path it is embarking on towards sustainability. With this support, Endesa is seeking a closer involvement with society, to improve the experience for the public and to make culture shine for everyone and to do so in an efficient and emission-free way.
