- Mayoral, the Malaga-based children's fashion multinational with a presence in more than 100 countries, will have a supply of locally produced renewable energy after the installation by Endesa X of two photovoltaic plants.
- The photovoltaic panels, which are being installed at the fashion company's headquarters and new logistics warehouse, will cover 44.45% of the company's energy needs and reduce its carbon footprint by 762 tonnes of CO2 per year, the equivalent of 4562 trees' yearly absorption capacity.
Mayoral, the multinational textile company based in Malaga and with more than 80 years of history, will have a local supply of renewable energy thanks to the agreement reached with Endesa X, Endesa's energy services subsidiary, for the installation of two self-consumption solar plants.
These local renewable energy production points are located at the international firm's headquarters in Malaga, with a capacity of 845.29 kWp, and in the newly built logistics facility located in the Intelhorce industrial estate, with a capacity of 1,442.07 kWp.
With this project, Endesa X accompanies this Malaga-based multinational with a presence in more than 100 countries in its commitment to caring for the environment, through its #ecofriends project, which aims to implement actions and initiatives to reduce the impact on the planet.
To help reduce the ecological footprint of this leading children's fashion company in the Iberian Peninsula, Endesa X is installing 3,711 solar modules between the two locations, which will produce around 3,346 MWh/year for self-consumption. This will meet around 44.45% of Mayoral's energy needs and will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 762 tonnes per year, which is similar to 4,562 trees' yearly absorption capacity.
Given the size of the two photovoltaic plants, the plan is to install a new medium-voltage station for the output of the energy produced, which will be consumed instantaneously and 100% by Mayoral, with no surplus.
This initiative will reduce Mayoral's traditional energy consumption, reducing its environmental impact and contributing to curbing the impact of climate change on our planet.
