Endesa has extended its supply contract with Vincci Hoteles by a further year, with the distinction that the energy supplied to the hotel group will be from renewable sources. This means that Endesa has pledged to supply the hotel chain exclusively with energy from renewable sources and high-efficiency co-generation facilities.
In total, 23 supply points will be renewed, representing an electricity volume of GWh per year. Endesa will also install the remote management system for all the Vincci group's hotels, enabling their daily consumption to be monitored and controlled, a further energy efficiency measure for the hotel chain.
The 26 Vincci hotels throughout the country that will receive green energy have already reported a consumption decline of 7 GWh p.a. over the last seven years, resulting in improved efficiency and financial savings.
This new contract is in line with Endesa's sustainability policy and forms part of the company's efficiency initiatives. Endesa is providing tailored solutions to achieve savings of up to 80% in the hotels' energy consumption thanks to the more efficient use of lighting systems. In keeping with its commitment to the hotel sector, the company also offers electrical installation upgrades that enable hotels to cut their bills by up to 15%.
The agreement forms part of Vinci Hoteles' Corporate Social Responsibility plan and sustainable global growth model. Since its foundation, the company has made a series of social and environmental undertakings. Accordingly, Vincci Hoteles has quality and environmental management systems at all its hotels, identifies and complies with local, regional. national and EU legal requirements in this regard; avoids, as far as possible, pollution, and promotes the responsible use of energy and natural resources and waste reduction.
