Endesa chairman Juan Sánchez-Calero and the CEO of the company, José Bogas, visited Endesa's stand in the Green Zone of the COP25 on Tuesday. Both had the opportunity to collaborate with the Endesa Forest initiative, planting a tree using an app available at the stand, which will result in the planting of 10,000 trees to reforest three areas of Teruel.
Endesa, official sponsor of COP25, has redoubled its commitment to decarbonising the economy through the strategic plan that will guide the company's decisions until 2022 and includes a firm commitment to renewable energy. Endesa has committed to increasing its renewable installed capacity by 40% by 2022, reducing its CO2 emissions by 70% between 2017 and 2030, by which time 75% of the company's electricity production will be emission-free, until full decarbonisation in 2050.
To achieve this, Endesa will make large-scale investments, with €7.7bn by 2022, €3.8bn of which will be allocated to developing renewables.
