Endesa becomes a sponsor of Faconauto Congress to promote electrified and sustainable mobility

  • Endesa’s sponsorship of Faconauto 2025 underscores its strong commitment to decarbonising transportation and integrating solutions that facilitate widespread adoption of electric vehicles in Spain.
  • For over fifteen years, Endesa has been driving electric mobility in Spain: on the one hand, by deploying one of the largest public charging networks in the country, with over 6,200 charging points nationwide; and on the other, by collaborating with businesses, public administrations, and individuals to support their electrification processes. The company has installed nearly 20,000 private charging points and is actively involved in projects that promote electric mobility.

By joining Faconauto Congress, the leading event for automotive distribution in Spain, for the first time as a sponsor, Endesa reaffirms its commitment to transforming the automotive industry and sustainable mobility. With over 2,000 professionals and 75 sponsoring companies attending its most recent edition, the congress has become a key forum for analysis and debate on the present and future of the automotive industry in the context of the energy transition.

This year’s edition, under the slogan #MovemosLaVida (‘We move life’), highlights the crucial role of car dealerships in driving economic development and innovation and navigating the challenges of electrified mobility. In this context, Endesa is proud to join as a strategic partner and contribute its expertise and vision on the electrification of transportation and charging infrastructure, both critical components in the shift towards a more sustainable and efficient mobility model.

Commitment to electrification and sustainability

Endesa’s sponsorship of Faconauto 2025 underscores its strong commitment to decarbonising transportation and integrating solutions that facilitate widespread adoption of electric vehicles in Spain. Since 2018, the company has spearheaded the deployment of public charging infrastructure through its Endesa X division, creating a continuously expanding network that enables drivers to access fast and ultra-fast charging points across the country.

‘The electrification of transportation is a crucial cornerstone for advancing the energy transition and fighting climate change. Car dealerships play a key role in this process by bringing electric mobility solutions closer to users and facilitating the transformation of the existing vehicle fleet. At Endesa, we’re committed to supporting this progress with innovative solutions and accessible charging infrastructure for everyone,’ affirmed Davide Ciciliato, General Manager of Supply at Endesa.

A congress with a global vision

Faconauto Congress 2025 will have an international focus, with delegations from car dealership associations in over 17 countries. This year, it will also include a significant presence of Chinese car manufacturers and dealerships advocating for sustainable mobility. This global dimension underscores the need for collaboration among key industry players to accelerate electrification and promote a mobility ecosystem in line with European sustainability goals.

Endesa is thus reaffirming its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive field by actively participating in one of the industry’s most influential events. During the congress, the company will showcase its solutions and projects aimed at facilitating the transition to electric mobility, promoting a more efficient and environmentally friendly transportation model.

Commitment to electric mobility

For more than a decade, Endesa has been committed to facilitating electric mobility for all users. This includes not only urban charging solutions with a wide range of options designed for all types of uses in car parks, shopping centres, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and more, but also a strong focus on public urban and peri-urban charging, as well as ultra-fast roadway charging to ensure users have no doubts about making long-distance trips.

As part of its public charging infrastructure development plan, Endesa has already implemented 6,200 charging points across Spain. In fact, charging units are already installed, operational, or under development in all autonomous communities and provinces, both on the Spanish peninsula and its islands. Endesa's is moreover a high-quality charging network: 98% of the charging points feature at least semi-fast chargers (22kW), while 42% rely on fast or ultra-fast technology, both in urban areas and on highways. Endesa has installed 820 ultra-fast charging points with power ranging from 150 kW to 350 kW, most of which are located near highways. Half of them are already operational.

In 2024, Endesa commissioned 1,100 charging points across Spain and has another 2,100 under construction or in various stages of permit processing. Conversely, over 1,100 charging points that are already installed and visible to the public cannot be used yet, as they are still awaiting the necessary authorisations from various administrations before they can be put into operation.

Endesa’s goal for the upcoming years remains to expand its charging network in line with market growth and to offer charging solutions to customers wherever they are needed. Endesa will continue to install charging points of all capacities, particularly focusing on fast and ultra-fast options, as part of a deployment strategy that aims to accommodate all usage habits in any setting.

Additionally, Endesa collaborates with businesses, public administrations, and individuals to support their electrification processes. The company has installed nearly 20,000 private charging points and offers energy supply, as well as advisory, management, and operation and maintenance services, to facilitate the transition to electric mobility in a comprehensive, efficient, and safe manner.
