- The region of Madrid and its councillor for Environment, Land Management and Sustainability are committed to the expansion of electric mobility and innovation.
- The charging hub will be located at a nerve point in the capital, in Ciudad de la Imagen, next to the light rail station, very close to the M40 and the A5.
- Initially, ten (10) ultra-fast 150 kW charging stations and five (5) semi-fast stations (up to 22kW) will be installed, with a total capacity of 30 charging points.
- Users will be able to access and make payments from their mobile, as well as book and use the charging stations from an app.
- The facilities will be open 24/7 and will be fully automated, using the latest access, charging and payment technologies.
Eysa, a leading mobility services company with more than 40 years of experience, and Endesa X, a leading company in energy services and electric mobility solutions, have signed an agreement to build and operate a fully automated public car park that will have the largest ultra-fast-charging hub in Spain.
The car park has more than 160 spaces available and is located in Ciudad de la Imagen, in Madrid (C/Luis Buñuel, 4, Pozuelo de Alarcón). It is thus situated at a nerve point in the capital, next to three main roads, the ring road M40, the A-5 and the M-511, and next to the Ciudad de la Imagen light rail station.
This new car park is set to become the largest hub for recharging electric vehicles in Spain at more than 225 square meters. Different cutting-edge charging technologies will also be deployed in the hub to suit the needs of users.
This project was born from the commitment of the region of Madrid and its Ministry of Environment, Land Management and Sustainability to electric mobility, thus leveraging the new technologies and systems of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) that allow the smart use of means for travel.
The initial installation provides for ten (10) ultra-fast charging stations (150 kW), allowing 20 vehicles to be charged simultaneously in approximately 10 minutes to 80% of their battery, and five (5) semi-fast charging stations (22 kW). In total, the hub will start by offering 30 charging spaces.
However, Endesa X wants the space to become a Europe-wide example and is planning to expand the project in successive phases to meet the demand for electric mobility in coming years.
The facilities will also feature applied technology for access, management and payment. In this way, Eysa, through the ElParking platform, will implement its own access control technology by license plate or app, a novel system that will save the driver time and money. Accesses and payment will be digitalised, since you will not need to take out a ticket and pay for the stay manually. Instead, this will be done automatically and safely when leaving the premises.
The ElParking application, with more than 1,000 registered car parks at the service of its 1.7 million users, has become a reference for the digitisation of the parking sector. And the project has benefited from all the experience and innovation thus acquired. As for the charging process, the service can be booked, used and paid for quickly and simply from the Juicepass app by Endesa X.
"Mobility is evolving, the new technologies and energies applied to the sector are not the future but the present. Faced with this reality, we want to provide solutions, since we are one of the most experienced and widespread actors in Spain, and to help both the public administrations and the population with our technology. Of course, there is no better partner for this project than Endesa X, which has drawn up an ambitious plan to install charging stations throughout Spain and is thus a leader in new sustainable mobility", explains Javier Delgado, CEO of Eysa.
Josep Trabado, CEO of Endesa X, says that "we have the opportunity to bring, in a big way, electric mobility to society. We are delighted to have the opportunity to deploy this hub with a great partner like EYSA in the region of Madrid. This will be the first charging hub in Spain with a capital H, oriented towards the diversity of technologies and users in a key location and with state-of-the-art technology, to adapt to individual needs. A reference for charging your electric vehicle, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
