- Endesa X and Andamur have chosen La Junquera, a strategic location for traffic to and from Europe, to launch these first 8 ultra-fast 350 kW charging stations, where drivers can recharge their batteries as needed to travel 100 km, in an estimated charging time of between 3 and 10 minutes.
- This new charging area is already Endesa X's third installation at Andamur service stations, out of a total of five provided for in the agreement signed between the companies in 2019. In addition to La Junquera, the other Andamur service stations with charging infrastructure are Andamur San Román (Alava) and Andamur Pamplona in the Ciudad del Transporte (Navarra).

Endesa X, Endesa's energy services and electric mobility business line, and Andamur, a specialist in offering comprehensive service to carriers on their routes and with a presence in nine European countries, today inaugurated their first ultra-fast charging space of 1.4 MW of total power. The selected service station is La Junquera, an important hub of traffic and one of the main access roads to Spain and the rest of Europe. As such, it is a strategic point and, by providing ultra-fast charging in one of the main transport corridors in the country (the AP7), becomes key to enabling long road trips to electric vehicle users. Recharging is estimated at between 3 and 10 minutes to travel 100 km, depending on the charging power of the electric vehicle and the percentage of battery power left at the time of recharging.
The event was attended by the deputy mayor of La Junquera, Rafael Medinilla, the General Manager of Endesa in Catalonia, Isabel Buesa, Miguel Ángel López, CEO of Andamur, and Manuel Muñoz, Director of Public Electric Mobility Infrastructure at Endesa X.
This new charging hub, located in Andamur's La Junquera service station, very close to the border with France, will allow up to eight vehicles to be recharged simultaneously thanks to its four ultra-fast technology stations (350 kW). Each station has two connectors (two hoses) with the European charging standard CCS Combo.
Any electric vehicle with this type of charger will be able to use the new facilities. The characteristics of the car itself will determine the power and, therefore, the recharging speed, at which they can be used.
For Manuel Muñoz, Director of Endesa X's Public Access Infrastructure Plan, "we continue working to facilitate electric mobility for all users, not only in cities with charging adapted to all types of uses in car parks, shopping centres, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, etc. We are also committed to ultra-fast recharging on the road for the users' peace of mind in long-distance trips. This new charging space is Endesa X's third at Andamur service stations, out of a total of five planned for the moment. All of them are strategically located throughout the country.
The station installed in Andamur La Junquera is part of the AMBRA-Electrify Europe project (2017-IT-TM-0110-W), funded by the European Commission's Connecting Europe Facility Programme (CEF Transport) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
How are the charging stations used?
With regard to the charging process, the booking, use and payment of the service is undertaken quickly and simply by means of the Endesa X Juicepass app. Users just need to download the app on their mobile and this enables them to manage the recharges for their electric vehicle directly from their phone (pay, book up to 15 minutes in advance, etc.) and also access tariffs adapted to all users, with monthly tariffs for recharge and pay-per-use, where you only pay for what you use to recharge.
The app is available on iOs and Android and users can sign up directly from their Facebook or Google account, or by providing an e-mail address. When customers register, they also enjoy unique benefits when recharging thanks to the existing recharging tariffs. They can create their own account with their preferences and payment methods, making subsequent recharges easier. In any case, users do not necessarily have to register in order to use the application. They can always choose to use it without registering and pay directly with their credit card, always from the app.
Recharging across Spain
Endesa X's charging network has almost 3,000 public access charging stations deployed in cities, rural areas and roads. In the latter case, the main roads have been covered, with more than 400 charging stations already in operation, thanks to agreements such as the one signed with Andamur. Endesa X aims to continue installing charging options at all powers, a deployment plan that takes consideration of all customer usage habits and therefore charging powers. As a result, in addition to ultra-fast and fast charging, Endesa X is investing in facilities in hospitals, hotels, car parks, cinemas, restaurants, or shopping centres, where the average stay is more than two hours. The development of electric mobility is one of the key pillars of Endesa's strategic plan, presented to the market at the end of last year.
Andamur and sustainable mobility
Andamur's commitment to the environment and sustainable mobility is clear. They work to give their customers the energy they need now and in the future. Traditional fuel, NGV and electricity can be found in some of its multi-energy service stations. It should be noted that they are the first company in the sector to have obtained the carbon footprint seal. Also, in their search for new alternative forms of energy, they have opted for green hydrogen, and are members of AHMUR, the green hydrogen sector association of the region of Murcia.
