The chosen location will be the International Lab, the innovation centre of the Madrid City Council (Calle de Bailén, 41, 28005, Madrid). After kicking off in Madrid and making stops in Seville, Barcelona, and Zaragoza, the VI +50 Emprende awards tour is returning to the Spanish capital.
- The online submission period for projects in the sixth edition of the Awards is open until 31 January 2025. Applications must be submitted through the form available on the SAVIA website.
- The +50 Emprende awards, Spain’s most significant senior entrepreneurship competition, is promoted by Generación SAVIA, a project by Endesa Foundation in collaboration with Fundación máshumano and the production company 02:59 Films.
Now in its sixth edition, this initiative, destined to promote entrepreneurship among professionals over 50, will make its second stop in Madrid on 16 January, returning to the city where this journey began in November. As previously said, these awards, driven by Generación SAVIA—a project by Endesa Foundation in collaboration with Fundación máshumano and the production company 02:59 Films—have embarked on a nationwide tour for the first time to identify and support new business ideas and ventures led by senior entrepreneurs. After kicking off in Madrid, the awards have already made stops in Seville, Barcelona, and Zaragoza, further establishing themselves as the most important senior entrepreneurship initiative in Spain.
The Madrid stop of the VI +50 Emprende awards tour will take place at International Lab, the innovation centre of the Madrid City Council (Calle de Bailén, 41. 28005, Madrid) from 10:00 to 14:00. A recording space will be set up where senior entrepreneurs can present their projects in person, with the support of 02:59 Films. This allows them to participate in a direct and accessible way.
Entrepreneurs interested in presenting their project at the event must register in advance through the SAVIA website form. During the presentation, participants must provide their name, age, place of origin, reason for pursuing entrepreneurship, and project description. More details can be found in the official competition terms and conditions.
Over its six editions, the +50 Emprende awards have become a key platform for showcasing the entrepreneurial potential of senior professionals. The initiative not only fosters innovation but also promotes a necessary cultural shift to eliminate age-related biases in the workplace.
What’s new in the sixth edition?
This year’s edition has increased its total prize fund to €53,000, including €33,000 in cash prizes and €20,000 in additional support services. A new special category, the Green Entrepreneurship award, has been introduced to recognise projects focused on energy transition and circular economy initiatives.
From all submitted proposals, 12 finalists will be selected to advance to the final stage. A specialised jury will choose the winners, who will compete for one of the three +50 Emprende Awards in the general category, as well as the Green Entrepreneurship Award in the special category. The first-place winner in the general category will receive €10,000, while the second and third-place winners will be awarded €5,000 and €3,000, respectively. Meanwhile, the winner of the Green Entrepreneurship Award will receive €15,000.
Additionally, in-kind prizes valued at €20,000 will provide training and mentoring through partners such as 50 PRO, ARRABE INTEGRA, TQUITY, Revista Emprendedores, and Elena Garzía, an entrepreneurship coach. This support will help winners strengthen their skills and equip them with the necessary resources to solidify their projects and maximise their impact.
