- On 3 June at 8 p.m., the Galileo Galilei venue in Madrid will hold the final gala of Endesa Play, the emerging talent contest that combines music and basketball.
- The first edition of Endesa Play received a tremendous response: 441 artists from all over Spain presented their original songs, and three of them were the most voted by the public to go through to the final: Exuvia (with 27.93% of the votes), La última copa (with 23.36%), and La Azotea (22.24%).
- The three finalists will perform live for the jury, who will decide the winner of the contest. The first prize will be a live performance at the Jardín de las Delicias festival in Madrid, the second will be a performance at the Endesa League Playoff final, while the third finalist will win a feature in the music magazine Mondo Sonoro.
- The final gala will be a true spectacle, with live music taking centre stage thanks to guest artists such as JavyPablo, DJ Pau Ornia, and a top-tier surprise guest group.
Endesa Play, the competition organized by Endesa in collaboration with the ACB Spanish basketball league, combines the search for the best emerging Spanish music talents with the passion for basketball offered by the Liga Endesa and is getting ready for its grand final gala, which will be held on 3 June at the Galileo Galilei venue in Madrid, starting at 8:00 p.m.
The competition has been a resounding success, with 441 artists entering, 18 of whom went through to the second phase. Each of them represented one of the clubs in the 2024-2025 Liga Endesa. The bands Exuvia (Casademont Zaragoza), La última copa (Río Breogán de Lugo), and La Azotea (BAXI Manresa) have earned a spot in the final thanks to the support of the fans.
During the final gala, the stage will also host live performances by a major surprise guest group and the Malaga-based brother duo JavyPablo, known for their pop style. The evening will wrap up with a set by DJ Pau Ornia, who will keep the energy high throughout the event.
The grand final gala of the 1st edition of Endesa Play
The gala will have a vibrant and dynamic format, designed to offer an unforgettable experience for both in-person attendees and online viewers.
The climax of the night will come with the announcement of the three prizes to be given to the finalists, which will provide a significant boost to these emerging artists’ careers. One of them will perform at the Jardín de las Delicias festival (Madrid), which will take place on 19 and 20 September of this year. Another will have the opportunity to play live during the 2024-2025 Endesa League final Playoff, while the third will be the subject of a feature in the prestigious music magazine Mondo Sonoro.
As the grand finale, the surprise guest will take the stage with a special performance to conclude the gala.
The three finalists of Endesa Play
Exuvia, the participant linked to Casademont Zaragoza, won the public vote with 27.93%. This band stands out for its explosive energy and a bold musical style that blends stoner, punk, and rock with a powerful punch. Their Spanish lyrics, rich in emotion and authenticity, tell stories that seek a deep, direct connection with the audience. Such is the case with ‘Un día ahí dentro’, a song that showcases their incredible stage presence and chemistry and has earned them their rightful place in the grand finale.
La última copa, the band linked to Río Breogán de Lugo, obtained 23.36% of the audience’s votes with their song ‘No es tarde,’ which positioned them as the second most supported finalist. Their musical style, rooted in pop and other genres, is characterised by its fusion of male and female vocals that weave together in carefully crafted, emotive harmonies. With their fresh energy and evident chemistry, their melodies earned them the support of the audience.
La Azotea with ‘DISTINTO’, representing BAXI Manresa, came very close with 22.24% of the votes. This band completed the trio of Endesa Play finalists. This five-member band delivers a vibrant blend of pop-rock, bursting with energy and a hunger to take on the world—a formula that won over the public.
The Endesa Play final will be the icing on the cake of this pioneering initiative, which has managed to unite the passion for music and basketball on the same stage. Endesa, with the collaboration of the ACB, thus reaffirms its commitment to supporting young musical talents and creating innovative experiences for fans.
