- The Endesa Foundation was first granted this recognition in 2018, and became the first IBEX 35 corporate foundation to achieve it.
- This accreditation recognises the foundation's rigour and good practices in management, as well as the fulfilment of its purposes in the social and urban biodiversity spheres.
- Lealtad Instituciones is the leading institution in Spain specialising in the accreditation of transparency and good governance of foundations.
The Endesa Foundation has once again received accreditation in Transparency and Good Practices granted by Lealtad Instituciones, which recognises the rigour and good practices of its management. The foundation was first given this seal in 2018, and became the first foundation of an Ibex 35 corporation to obtain it. This recognition, renewed every two years, was repeated in 2020 and then this year.
The renewal of this seal comes after an in-depth and detailed analysis process that Lealtad Instituciones began in June. It has now released a report that shows the full compliance by the Endesa Foundation with the seven principles of Transparency and Good Practices defined by a committee of experts.
All corporate foundations must meet these criteria if they wish to be granted this accreditation: operation and regulation of the Board of Trustees, clarity and publicity of the social purpose, planning and monitoring of the activity, accountability and faithful image in the information, transparency in financing, control in the use of funds and compliance with legal obligations.
The Endesa Foundation has always been committed to transparency and rigour in the performance of its activities, and is committed to continuing to progress towards maximum transparency in order to be as close as possible to society.
The renewal of this accreditation recognises its interest in ensuring its good governance, the efficient management of its funds and the fulfilment of its social purposes, thus demonstrating to its stakeholders and the general public its good operation as a corporate, rigorous and independent institution. In addition, it makes it possible to identify its main strengths and weaknesses and establish measures for improvement.
Lealtad Instituciones is the first professional organisation in Spain that analyses and provides foundations with accreditation based on compliance with the 7 Principles of Transparency and Good Practices, which have been defined by a committee of prestigious experts with the aim of improving and accrediting transparency in their management and good governance.
