- The new season was presented at the headquarters of Endesa, the main sponsor, attended by players from the 16 teams participating in the LF Endesa. A luxury presentation with the participation of the president of the FEB, Jorge Garbajosa, and the general director of communication of the energy company, Ignacio Jiménez Soler.
The LF Endesa 2021-22 opened the curtain with an entertaining presentation ceremony at the headquarters of its 'naming sponsor' presented by Juanma Iturriaga and his team of "Colgados del Aro" (Ring Hangers), and attended by players from the 16 participating teams.
Maite Cazorla (P. Avenida), María Araújo (Spar Girona), Raquel Carrera (Valencia Basket) and Gaby Ocete (Tenerife), representing the four teams that will fight for the Super Cup next weekend were responsible for interviewingJorge Garbajosa and Ignacio Jiménez Soler.
Endesa's director general of communication said that this will be "the third year with the Women's League and the tenth year connecting with the Federation. We are delighted and sincerely hope this will be a long and lasting relationship." Nacho Jiménez Soler wanted to talk about the joint Basket Girlz project, which "unites us with the Federation and shows that the relationship is running smoothly. The aim is to understand why girls stop playing basketball at an early age and to combat the causes."
Jorge Garbajosa ensured us that "every euro invested in women's basketball is a good investment. We are delighted that FEB members are committed to women." The president of the Federation addressed the players to tell them that "everything you give us, we multiply by ten. The energy you transmit on the court is spectacular, but also outside it, with new initiatives, with your commitment to the national team..."
There was also participation by Gracia Alonso (Kutxabank Araski), Helena Oma (Durán M. Ensino), Vega Gimeno (Casademont Zaragoza), Patricia Cabrera (Baxi Ferrol), Aina Ayuso (Campues Promete), Ariadna Pujol (Cadí La Seu) Laura Méndez (Pajariel Bembibre), Conchi Mongomo (Spar Gran Canaria), Marta Hermida (Innova TSN Leganés), Yurena Díaz (IDK Euskotren), Tinara Moore (Lointek Gernika), and Leslie Knight (Movistar Estudiantes).
Two historical women's basketball players also took the stage: Elisa Aguilar and Mónica Messa. The director of the FEB Leagues wished to address the players present to remind them that "you are playing in the best league in Europe. Here in the Federation we are continuing to work on giving more visibility to a competition that gives us so much pleasure season by season." The European champion in 1993 put the spotlight on two players from the LF Endesa: "Laura Gil, who represents the spirit of the national team and the competition; and Maite Cazorla, a player who sacrifices herself for the team and whose quality is able to win matches."
The event closed with a Tik Tok dance session led by Gaby Ocete and with the participation of Siro López and 'Pablo Lolaso', regulars in the "Colgados del Aro" team.
